At the press conference announcing the socio-economic situation in the first 3 months of 2025, the Provincial People's Committee said that in the first quarter of 2025, it approved the investment policy for 7 domestic investment projects (and proposed the State to allocate and lease land) with a total investment capital of more than 2,900 billion VND. Of which, there are 4 projects outside economic zones and industrial parks with a total investment of more than 2,298 billion VND; there are 3 projects in economic zones and industrial parks with a total investment of nearly 619 billion VND.
According to the Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoai Nam, the Provincial People's Committee is currently actively reviewing and directing the recovery of slow-progressing projects in the province. Specifically, from 2021 to present, Quang Binh province has recovered 54 slow-progressing projects. Of which, 1 project was recovered in 2021, 1 project was recovered in 2022, 3 projects were recovered in 2023, 45 projects were recovered in 2024, and 4 projects have been recovered since the beginning of 2025.
Currently, there are 90 projects behind schedule in the province. The Department of Finance has advised the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the projects behind schedule and plans to carry out procedures to continue to recover 59 projects in the coming time. Of these, 8 projects have agreed to terminate operations and are carrying out procedures to terminate the project and 51 projects are behind schedule and have not yet deposited funds.
In addition, there are 31 projects that are behind schedule and have already been allocated land. The Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Finance and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to plan to monitor the specific progress of each project. If the project is not completed by the deadline, the recovery procedures will be carried out in accordance with regulations.
In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to direct relevant departments and agencies to review long-standing, ineffective projects and propose solutions and mechanisms to resolve them. Resolutely revoke unnecessary projects and works to free up resources.
