(NLDO) - While visiting a relative's house during Tet, an 8-year-old boy in Quang Tri unfortunately drowned and died in a pond near his house.
On the morning of February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), the leader of the People's Committee of Phong Binh commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province confirmed that the authorities and local people had found the body of a child who drowned in a pond near his house.
Previously, HXH (8 years old, residing in Gio Chau commune, Gio Linh district) was taken by relatives to his grandparents' house in Lan Dinh village (Phong Binh commune) to play. At around 3:00 p.m. on February 1, the family did not see H. so they searched for him and notified the local authorities.
Upon receiving the news, the forces of Phong Binh commune and the people organized a search. At nearly 10 p.m. the same day, H.'s body was found in a pond about 300 meters from her grandfather's house.
Currently, H.'s body has been brought home for funeral arrangements.
