Mr. Ngo Van Khuyen - Deputy Head of the Department of People's Organizations, Central Committee for Mass Mobilization answered questions from delegates.
Leaders of local Journalists Associations are very interested in the new regulations in these documents. Most delegates shared their opinions and asked questions about the policies of the association such as: Organization, personnel, finance, structure... Opinions said that personnel work must be unified from the central to local levels. In reality, many local Associations have only 1 staff, some have 7-8 staff. Due to the small number of staff, many Associations cannot appoint positions such as Chief of Office or Head of Professional Committees...
Regarding finance, delegates recommended that the Vietnam Journalists Association pay attention to timely and reasonable budget support so that local associations can maintain effective operations and fulfill their role in the development of the country's press.
In his concluding remarks at the Conference, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that Decision 118 and Decree 126 are specialized, practical and useful contents for the comrades representing the leaders of the Journalists Association at all levels, press agencies and staff working in the Association's office to advise and assist the Association's Standing Committee to absorb, study and apply in practice to better fulfill assigned political tasks.
