Continue to strengthen and develop the nursing system in the health sector

In order to evaluate nursing work at medical examination and treatment facilities in the province, on the afternoon of April 5, the Department of Health held a conference on nursing work in the whole sector.

The entire Lao Cai health sector currently has 1,775 nurses. In recent times, units have implemented professional ethics standards for nurses in conjunction with innovation in service style and attitude and building green - clean - beautiful - safe medical facilities. In 2023, through inspection and evaluation of the results of 2023, the average score of nursing and patient care activities at medical units in the province is 3.48, an increase of 0.28 points compared to 2022.

However, nursing work still faces some difficulties such as: Nursing Councils at hospitals have been established but their activities are not regular and effective; the number of nursing staff at some hospitals is not guaranteed; the number of nurses with intermediate qualifications is still high...

The Department of Health requires units in the process of implementing tasks to determine nursing care interventions for patients that are professional, comprehensive, safe, high quality and appropriate to the needs of each patient; create a friendly and professional care environment at medical examination and treatment facilities; improve the quality of nursing work, contributing to improving the quality of health care for the people.

The Department of Health has also disseminated the content of the nursing medical record form prescribed in Circular 32/2023/TT-BYT dated December 31, 2023 of the Ministry of Health to medical examination and treatment facilities for research and synchronous implementation throughout the province. In addition, it requires hospitals to organize periodic nursing work meetings once a quarter, continuing to consolidate and develop the nursing system.

At the conference, delegates discussed nursing work at the unit, difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process; made recommendations and solutions for good implementation in the coming time.
