Continuing faith, adding motivation to help the poor have a warm Tet

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front from the central to local levels actively mobilized, along with support from the State budget, to give gifts to poor households, near-poor households, and people in especially difficult circumstances with a total of 7,894,249 gifts, worth over 4,742 billion VND.

Synchronous implementation from central to grassroots

With the spirit of "For the poor - leaving no one behind", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of 63 provinces and cities have issued plans and documents to synchronously implement activities to care for the poor and people in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

The Mobilization Committee for the Fund “For the Poor”, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, and member organizations have coordinated to propagate and organize activities to celebrate Spring and the Party so that all people can celebrate Lunar New Year in a joyful, excited, safe, and economical spirit; care for and look after everyone and every family to have Tet, especially policy households with difficult circumstances, social protection beneficiaries, poor households; poor households affected by natural disasters, households in remote areas, border areas, and islands; poor households who are civil servants, workers working in difficult areas.

The Fatherland Front at all levels has coordinated to carefully prepare programs to welcome leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front to visit and present Tet gifts to local people; mobilize and introduce businesses and philanthropists to help, support, and give gifts directly to households in many practical forms such as money, rice, warm blankets, warm clothes, and essential items... during Tet so that the poor and people in difficult circumstances can have a fuller and warmer Tet.

Mr. Cao Xuan Thao, Head of the Social Mobilization Committee (Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front) said that in order to take care of the poor and people in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central Mobilization Committee for the "For the Poor" Fund have allocated VND 17.42 billion from the Central "For the Poor" Fund to give 13,400 Tet gifts to poor households, near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances in localities and cancer patients in especially difficult circumstances in hospitals.

Specifically, the Central "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee has supported 16.38 billion VND to transfer to 63 provinces and cities to give 12,600 gifts at 1.3 million VND/gift.

Leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front visited and presented Tet gifts to the poor and those in especially difficult circumstances in localities. At the same time, leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also visited and presented 800 gifts to cancer patients in especially difficult circumstances at hospitals in Hanoi, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An province, at VND1.3 million/gift; the total value is VND1.04 billion.

Accompanying the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, there are two units that directly support localities with Tet gifts with a total amount of 34.95 billion VND, of which Mobile World Joint Stock Company supports 2,035 tons of rice, worth 33 billion VND to 54 provinces and cities; Saving Delivery Joint Stock Company donates 1,500 gifts, worth 1.3 million VND/gift, with a total amount of 1.95 billion VND to 10 provinces and cities.

So that everyone, every family can enjoy Spring and Tet

In addition to the support from the Central Government, millions of meaningful gifts before the New Year presented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations have added confidence and motivation to help the poor and people in difficult circumstances have more conditions to celebrate a joyful and warm Tet.

Localities have organized many activities to celebrate Spring, celebrate the Party's care for the poor and people in difficult circumstances.

In Da Nang city, the program "Spring of Love - At Ty year 2025" was organized to give gifts to disadvantaged people with over 20,000 gifts, worth over 10 billion VND. "Spring of Love - Tet of Sharing" is a meaningful activity implemented by Hanoi city to care for people in difficult circumstances.

Specifically, 89.05 billion VND was spent to support the construction and repair of 1,714 Great Solidarity houses, support production development for 650 households, support 1,043 people for medical examination and treatment, and support over 769 million VND to students from poor households and those in difficult circumstances.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels from the city to the grassroots level, in coordination with authorities at all levels in the capital, presented Tet gifts worth VND567 billion to over 1 million beneficiaries of the policy for meritorious people, pensioners, monthly allowances for loss of working capacity, near-poor households, social protection beneficiaries, the elderly, and workers and civil servants in especially difficult circumstances.

According to a quick report from 63 provinces and cities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and localities have drawn from the 3-level "For the Poor" Fund, mobilized units, businesses, organizations, philanthropists and member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the State and local budgets with a total of 7,880,849 gifts, worth over 4,742 billion VND.

Some member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also carry out many activities to take care of Tet for union members.

Among them, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and trade unions at all levels have consulted and coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, authorities and relevant agencies at the same level to serve 201 delegations of Party, State and National Assembly leaders, leaders of departments, ministries, branches, committees of the National Assembly, and National Assembly delegations in 63/63 provinces and cities.

During Tet, 28,305 union members and workers received gifts worth over 37.1 billion VND.

The Vietnam Red Cross Society organizes the "Humanitarian Tet" movement in 2025. According to a quick report, up to now, 54 provinces and cities have mobilized to support 561,391 gifts, worth 282.3 billion VND. The Red Cross Society at all levels has organized 83 provincial/municipal Charity Tet Market programs, 308 district, commune and equivalent Charity Tet Market programs, 46,540 programs and activities with the direct participation of leaders of local Party committees and authorities.

The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army directed the entire army to organize over 350 military-civilian Tet programs in 2025, such as "Spring of the border guards warms the hearts of the villagers", "Spring of the border solidarity, Tet full of military-civilian affection", "Spring of solidarity - warm military-civilian affection", "Army soldiers celebrate Tet with ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands" with the programs "Spring of Zone 5 solidarity, Tet full of military-civilian affection", "Spring of soldiers, Tet of the military and the people", "Tet of the army - the people", "Tet on islands", "Tet sum vay - Spring sharing", "Tet reunion with all workers, no one is left behind, welcoming the spring happily, warmly, and fully"... with activities to support building new houses, repairing houses, providing free medical examination and medicine, giving nearly 130,000 gifts to families with preferential policies, poor households, soldiers, civil servants, and military workers in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount spent on activities worth over 300 billion VND.

Vietnam Farmers' Union at all levels have actively and proactively called for and mobilized donations and support of money and gifts from businesses, organizations, individuals and philanthropists, joining hands to take care of Tet in order to promote the spirit of mutual love, solidarity and sharing in the community.

The Association at all levels has mobilized 193,738 gifts in cash and in kind, including food and necessities for Tet, with a total value of 76.7 billion VND to give to poor farmers and disadvantaged families.

To ensure that everyone and every household has the conditions to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has proactively coordinated with Party committees, authorities, and member organizations to synchronously organize and implement activities to care for and encourage all classes of people, especially the poor and those in difficult circumstances in society.

The timely visit of Party and State leaders, leaders of Party committees and authorities at all levels to localities and grassroots levels to visit, encourage and give gifts to people of all walks of life, families with meritorious services, the poor, and workers in difficult circumstances has contributed significantly to encouraging and fostering the spirit of solidarity and cohesion among the people, demonstrating the Party and State's concern and care for both the material and spiritual lives of the people every time Tet and Spring come./.
