Mr. Tran Minh Vuong, officer in charge of Project 06 of Minh Long District Medical Center, said that the District Medical Center has effectively implemented the use of chip-embedded CCCD cards to replace health insurance in medical examination and treatment.

Since using the CCCD card, not only patients but also medical staff have saved a lot of time, reduced a lot of paperwork and procedures. Procedures are carried out quickly and conveniently, creating satisfaction for patients.

Being a mountainous district, the implementation of using chip-embedded CCCD cards in health care initially encountered some difficulties. The CCCD cards were not synchronized with the system, leading to certain errors. Many people did not understand the utility and were not familiar with using the CCCD cards.

Faced with this situation, Minh Long District Medical Center has stepped up communication and guidance for people to use CCCD. Up to now, people have become familiar with using CCCD cards with chips when doing medical examination and treatment procedures.

As of the third quarter of 2024, the number of people using CCCD in medical examination and treatment in Minh Long district reached 99.79%, leading 13 districts, towns and cities in the province.

"Currently, there are still some people who do not have a chip-embedded CCCD card or have a CCCD card but it has not been integrated with health insurance information, or the CCCD card has expired and is waiting to be reissued. There are a few cases where people live far away but forget to bring their CCCD when receiving medical treatment," Mr. Vuong informed.

Coming to the District Medical Center for medical examination and treatment, Mr. Dinh Go (49 years old), in Dong Can village, Thanh An commune said, I came to the District Medical Center for medical examination and treatment.

Previously, I had to bring many documents such as health insurance card, ID card to do the procedures. Now, the CCCD card integrates documents and personal information, so it is very convenient and fast.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Trang - in charge of the patient guidance and reception department at Minh Long District Medical Center, in the past, when going to the hospital for medical examination and treatment, one had to present many documents and wait quite a long time for medical staff to verify and enter information.

In some cases, the information between the insurance and identification documents does not match. There are many cases where the health insurance card is damaged or lost, making it difficult to register for medical care.

Now, the chip-embedded CCCD card integrates people's information. Therefore, patients do not have to wait long during the medical examination and treatment procedures.

Using CCCD cards in medical examination and treatment brings many benefits to both management agencies, medical facilities and people.

At the same time, it avoids the use of other people's health insurance cards for medical examination; the management agency saves costs on card issuance, health insurance card management, and prevents abuse and profiteering of health insurance funds...
