Tien Giang has granted 12 river sand mining licenses for 5 key traffic projects in the South.

(ABO) According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province, to date, the province has issued 12 licenses for river sand exploitation to supply 5 key traffic projects in the Southern region.

Following the direction of the Prime Minister, Tien Giang province supplied 15.95 million m3 of sand for filling 5 key transport projects in the Southern region. By March 21, 2025, the province had allocated 17 mines for 5 projects, with a total reserve of more than 13.556 million m3 .

Up to now, the province has issued 12 river sand mining licenses. The total volume granted is more than 9.698 million m3 ; 5 mines are in the process of licensing, with a total volume of over 3.858 million m3 . It is expected that these mines will be licensed in April 2025; the remaining 2.393 million m3 will be allocated to My Luong mine, Thoi Son mine will be transferred according to a special mechanism after recovery and a part of the remaining reserves of 2 special mining areas (Construction Joint Stock Company 368 and Truong Son Construction Corporation).

Of which, the Ring Road 3 Project, Ho Chi Minh City, has a target of 6.6 million m3 , according to the plan to assign 7 mines. Up to now, 5 mining licenses have been granted for 5 mining areas including: Hoa Hung 5, Vam Cai Thia, Hoa Khanh 1, Hoa Hung 6, Nam Con Da. By March 21, 2025, enterprises have exploited and supplied the project with over 26,000 m3 .

For the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project, the target is 4.55 million m3 . According to the plan to assign 5 mines, up to now, 3 mining licenses have been granted at 3 mines including: Hoa Hung 4, Ngu Hiep 1, An Nhon. Enterprises have approved plans to ensure traffic safety, set up buoys, prohibit shore markers; prepare documents to lease water surface land; fulfill financial obligations. It is expected to be exploited before March 31, 2025.

For the Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway Project, the target is 2 million m3 . According to the plan to assign 1 mine, 1 Mining License has been granted at Binh Duc mine, with a reserve of 592,300 m3 . The enterprise has approved the plan to ensure traffic safety, set up buoys, prohibit shore markers; prepare documents to lease water surface land; fulfill financial obligations. It is expected to be exploited before March 31, 2025.

For the Ho Chi Minh Road Project, the Rach Soi - Ben Nhat and Go Quao - Vinh Thuan sections, the target is 1.8 million m3 . According to the plan to assign 1 mine, 1 Mining License has been granted at Hoa Hung 1 mine, with a total reserve of over 1.823 million m3 to supply the project. Enterprises have approved plans to ensure traffic safety, set up buoys, prohibit shore markers; prepare documents for leasing water surface land; fulfill financial obligations. It is expected to be exploited before March 31, 2025.

For Component Project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Construction Project, Phase 1, the assigned target is 950,000 m3 . Up to now, the province has assigned 2 mines (exploitation areas according to special mechanisms) to Construction Joint Stock Company 368 and Truong Son Construction Corporation. The total volume assigned according to project requirements is 1.266 million m3 . By March 21, 2025, the 2 mines have exploited and supplied the project with over 71,800 m3 .
