CELEBRATE THE 36TH ANNIVERSARY OF PEOPLE'S BORDER DEFENSE DAY (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2025)

DTO - After 10 years of implementing Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 of the Prime Minister on organizing the movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security (ANBGQG) in the new situation" (abbreviated as Directive 01), it has contributed to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the masses in the cause of building and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security.

MANY POSITIVE RESULTS
Implementing the documents directing and guiding the implementation of Directive No. 01, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the two communes of Thuong Thoi Hau A and Thuong Lac (Hong Ngu district) together with the Party Committee and Command Board of Cau Muong Border Guard Station under the Provincial Border Guard Command (abbreviated as 3 units) proactively added to the resolution, developed a plan, organized dissemination to all cadres, party members, and people to clearly see the meaning, importance and voluntarily and actively participate in the movement of the People to protect territorial sovereignty and national security in the new situation.
Over the past 10 years, the 3 units have regularly carried out propaganda and mobilization work for the masses with nearly 1,500 locations and over 21,000 participants; propagandizing on the loudspeaker system, distributing leaflets, organizing propaganda and art performances, encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties, successfully completing the task of managing and firmly protecting national sovereignty and security. Every year, over 100 people have registered to participate in the movement for the entire people to protect territorial sovereignty and security.
Comrade Nguyen Van Lanh - Commander of the Military Command of Thuong Thoi Hau A Commune, shared: “Over the past 10 years, the Commune Military Command has always closely coordinated with units stationed in the area, especially Ba Nguyen Border Control Station (Cau Muong Border Control Station) and the Commune Police to patrol, prevent, inspect and control the border and the area. The Commune Military Command has advised the Party Committee and the Commune People's Committee to effectively coordinate and strictly manage the area, actively fight against criminal activities, smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border; regularly organize patrolling, controlling and absolutely protecting the safety of the border system, landmarks and signs on the border, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of national border security in all situations”.
Every year, the 3 units regularly visit, give gifts, and wish the National Border Marker Self-Management Teams, policy households, and meritorious people a Happy New Year. In particular, the officers and soldiers of Cau Muong Border Guard Station voluntarily save their monthly salary and deduct their daily rice ration to support 5 households in difficult circumstances and the elderly living alone (each household receives 20kg of rice/month); support 7 students under the program "Helping children go to school" (each child receives 500,000 VND/month) and 2 "Adopted children of the Border Guard Station" (each child receives 200,000 VND/month); participate in the programs "Border Spring, Warming the hearts of the villagers", "Border Spring, Loving Tet", "Military - People Tet", "Accompanying women in the border", "Godmother"... giving gifts to support poor households and policy families with hundreds of millions of VND each year. Thereby, building good relationships and feelings with the Party Committee, government and people in the stationed area. In 2024 and early 2025, the 3 units mobilized and built 43 houses for poor households; helped people repair houses, overcome natural disasters, fires...

Lieutenant Truong Quoc Anh - Head of the Cau Muong Border Post's Mass Mobilization Team, said: "Over the past years, Cau Muong Border Post has thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the contents of the People's Border Day, documents of the Central and local governments on the management and protection of territorial sovereignty, national border security, and building a strong border area in many forms. The station has effectively promoted the model of "Border loudspeaker" to serve mobile propaganda at markets, residential areas, and routes to propagate regulations on the national border, regulations on entry and exit to border areas, border crossings, and prohibited acts in border areas...".
Cau Muong Border Guard Station proactively coordinates closely with forces stationed in the area to grasp the situation and related incidents; disseminate documents on the border, results of border demarcation and marker planting, the movement of All People participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; prevent and fight epidemics... Create favorable conditions for people on both sides of the border to visit relatives, buy and sell, exchange goods, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border.
Mr. Le Van Chi - Secretary of the Self-management Team for National Border Markers and Security and Order in the Border Area of Binh Hoa Trung Hamlet, Thuong Thoi Hau A Commune, shared: “The Team meets periodically once a month, with the participation of the government, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and Cau Muong Border Guard. Through these meetings, we promptly share information on the border security situation, propagate and mobilize people to well implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on the land border area in conjunction with the movement of All People Protecting Territorial Sovereignty and National Security. In the past time, the Team and the border guards patrolled the border 125 times, with more than 810 members participating, providing 447 pieces of information, many of which are valuable, contributing to preventing and repelling infiltration activities in the hamlet area”.
Comrade Le Anh Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Thoi Hau A commune, said: "In recent years, local sectors and organizations have implemented the National Border Guard Day in conjunction with the movement of the People participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national security in the new situation, achieving many outstanding results. In particular, the beautiful image of the green-uniformed soldiers on the provincial border line is vividly portrayed, which is the silent sacrifice, day and night, not afraid of hardship, holding the gun firmly, firmly protecting every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland. The Cau Muong Border Guard soldiers not only perform the task of protecting the Fatherland, managing and protecting the border, but also participate in consolidating the grassroots political system, participating in socio-economic development in the locality".

CONTINUING TO COORDINATE IN PROTECTING TERRITORIAL SOVEREIGNTY AND NATIONAL SECURITY
Speaking at the 2025 National Border Defense Festival in Thuong Thoi Hau A Commune (Hong Ngu District) on February 27, 2025, Comrade Tran Tri Quang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the National Border Defense Festival is an important political and social event, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the entire Party and people in protecting national sovereignty and security. This is an opportunity to honor the Border Guard force and people in border areas, raise awareness of territorial sovereignty, promote the movement of all people participating in border protection; contribute to consolidating the people's hearts, strengthening foreign relations, promoting socio-economic development in border areas, building a peaceful, stable and sustainable border.
Comrade Tran Tri Quang requested all levels, sectors, organizations and forces to continue to better implement the contents of the National Border Defense Day in conjunction with the implementation of Directive No. 01. In particular, the Party Committee and authorities of Hong Ngu district, Hong Ngu city, Tan Hong district closely coordinate with the Provincial Border Guard to pay attention to building and consolidating strong grassroots political and social organizations, strengthening the great national unity bloc, solidarity between the army and the people, taking care of people's lives; improving the quantity and quality of self-management teams for national border markers and security and order in border areas, and self-management teams for people; strictly manage the border and border markers, effectively fight against all types of crimes, effectively resolve incidents related to people on both sides of the border, maintain social security and order in the area... In foreign affairs, all levels and forces, especially the Border Guard, have effectively implemented the cooperation agreements signed between Dong Thap province (Vietnam) and Prey Veng province (Cambodia), strengthened good coordination with friendly forces along the border, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border, serving the socio-economic development tasks of the province.
Thuong Thoi Hau A and Thuong Lac are two border communes located in the northeast of Hong Ngu district, with a border of 11.049km (of which 9.188km is the common river border and 1.861km is the land border), opposite is Kos-Sam-Pu commune, Piem Cho district, Prayveng province, Cambodia. Currently, the two communes have 4/8 hamlets bordering the border, with 6,496 households and 25,126 people, the people's lives are mainly agricultural. In recent years, the political security situation, social order and safety in the area have been basically stable, territorial sovereignty, and national border security have been maintained; the solidarity and friendship between the two sides of the border have been consolidated and well maintained. |
