There is only about 1 month left until the election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term. Currently, localities are urgently completing preparations and organizing elections in conjunction with continuing to implement the policy of Party cell secretaries concurrently being village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs.
Dong Trieu City currently has 162 villages and neighborhoods. Strictly implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Dong Trieu City Party Committee has developed a plan, and at the same time requested Party committees and authorities from the district to the grassroots level to organize dissemination and propaganda widely among cadres, party members, and people and develop a specific plan for implementation. Dong Trieu has completed organizing election training for 420 delegates to ensure unity throughout the city.
To ensure the personnel work for the election of village and ward heads, the Dong Trieu City Party Committee requires the grassroots Party Committees to review the existing team of Party cell secretaries who are also village and ward heads to clearly identify and firmly grasp the cases that meet the conditions, standards, and prestige to continue to be re-elected; proactively prepare additional and replacement cadres in places where there are changes. At the same time, do a good job of political and ideological work, motivating and encouraging cadres and Party members who are capable of participating in tasks in villages and residential areas, combined with the assignment of the Party organization.
To date, 160/162 villages and neighborhoods in the city have completed the planned personnel. Of these, 124 people were re-elected (accounting for 77%), 26 were newly introduced personnel (accounting for 16%), and 2 villages have not completed the personnel work. In terms of age, the youngest candidate is 32 years old, the oldest is 73 years old. In terms of qualifications, 14 people have university degrees, 6 people have college degrees, 9 people have intermediate degrees, 1 person has elementary level, and the rest are high school graduates.
Along with that, the city focused on repairing 100% of cultural houses in villages and areas; stepped up propaganda to create solidarity, unity, consensus, support and create trust and excitement among the people; focused on solving existing problems that officials, party members and people are concerned about.
Similarly, in Van Don district, election preparation work has also been actively implemented, and so far, all steps have been basically completed according to the set schedule. According to Secretary of the District Party Committee Truong Manh Hung, the Standing Committee of the Van Don District Party Committee has assigned each member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee to be in charge of each locality to grasp the situation, as well as direct 12 communes and towns to do a good job of preparing personnel, propaganda, celebration, ensuring security and order, and being ready to successfully organize the election of village and neighborhood chiefs. One of the contents that the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee is most interested in leading and directing is the source of personnel to elect village and neighborhood chiefs. Because these are cadres who must be carefully selected, meeting the requirements in the new situation, close to the people, close to the people, listening to the people. From there, people will trust to elect village and neighborhood chiefs.
Through the review, out of a total of 72 villages and quarters, 61 village and quarter heads were re-elected (accounting for 85%), and 11 villages and quarters introduced new personnel (accounting for 15%). For newly introduced personnel, communes and towns have actively reviewed human resources, done a good job of political and ideological work, and encouraged retired cadres and party members who are capable of participating in tasks in villages and quarters. Currently, 100% of villages and quarters in Van Don district have completed step 2 of consultation; 25 villages and quarters have completed step 3 of consultation.
Along with Dong Trieu and Van Don, localities in the province are also urgently preparing for the election of village, hamlet and ward chiefs for the 2025-2027 term, taking place on December 15, 2024. Up to now, many localities have completed the issuance of decisions to organize the election, of which the earliest ones are: Dong Trieu, Ha Long, Co To; at the same time, the election team has been established to ensure regulations on the participating members.
As of November 14, 2024, 1,018 villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods have completed steps 1 and 2 of consultation. The most are in Ha Long, Uong Bi, Van Don, Quang Yen, Mong Cai, and Tien Yen. 208 villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods have completed steps 3 and 4.
At this time, localities are actively directing communes, wards and towns to promote propaganda about the election in many forms, such as: Party cell activities; through conferences of communes, wards, towns, villages, hamlets and neighborhoods; integrated into the National Great Unity Day; through media such as electronic information portals, loudspeaker systems, fanpages, zalo, and facebook of communes and wards. At the same time, review the headquarters of cultural houses of villages, hamlets and neighborhoods, repair and upgrade cultural houses that are degraded and damaged after storm No. 3; build new toilets to meet the living and working needs of the people. Typically, Ha Long City has completed the construction of 35 new cultural houses and repaired 12 cultural houses with a total cost of nearly 100 billion VND; Quang Yen Town is focusing on repairing cultural houses and equipment for the election, striving to complete before November 30...
The election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term is a broad political activity among all people. The election is conducted on the principle of direct and secret ballot, ensuring the promotion of the people's mastery. Through each ballot, voters choose capable, enthusiastic people who are worthy of being the people's support, building villages, hamlets and neighborhoods to develop more and more.
