The election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs is an important event to promote the people's mastery, improve the effectiveness of building and implementing grassroots democracy regulations, and strengthen solidarity and unity in the community. Currently, in all villages and neighborhoods of Dam Ha district, preparations for the election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term are taking place closely, in accordance with regulations. The goal is to select and elect exemplary people with qualities, abilities and prestige to represent the community.
On November 10, Tan Son village (Quang Tan commune, Dam Ha district) organized the National Great Unity Day. One of the key issues discussed at the festival and which received a lot of attention and enthusiastic comments from the people was the announcement of the election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term which will take place on December 15, 2024, along with the introduction of personnel to be elected to the position of village chief for the new term.
Mr. Nguyen Dong Quang, a resident of Tan Son village, said: We have participated in the village chief election many times and are fully aware that this is one of the important political events of the residential area. If we elect a responsible and capable village chief, the village will develop stably, the people will be united, their lives will improve, and the village will become rich and strong...
Like Tan Son, nearly 70 remaining villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods in Dam Ha district are all in an excited mood preparing for the big festival, the election of village, hamlet, and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term. People in each village, hamlet, and neighborhood are interested in this event, want to learn and contribute opinions, and hope to elect the most prestigious village chief.
In order to practically prepare for the election of village, hamlet and ward chiefs for the 2025-2027 term, local Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels, sectors, agencies and units in Dam Ha district have stepped up propaganda and mobilization work, creating solidarity and unity in the political system; creating confidence, enthusiasm and consensus among the people for the election of village chiefs. Dam Ha District Party Committee focuses on disseminating and thoroughly understanding the contents on the purpose, meaning and importance of the election; the role, position, criteria, tasks, powers and procedures for electing village chiefs... The People's Committees at district and commune levels, and specialized departments flexibly and diversely use propaganda forms to ensure effectiveness, practicality and suitability to each household, creating a wide spread, positively impacting people's awareness and feelings about the meaning, importance, rights and responsibilities for the election of village chiefs.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Dam Ha district, said: Currently, 100% of the villages and quarters of Dam Ha follow the model of Party cell secretaries concurrently being village and quarter chiefs. The team of Party cell secretaries concurrently being village and quarter chiefs have been promoting their own capacity and responsibility, actively contributing to the overall development of the villages and quarters throughout the district in recent times. Through reviewing and grasping the situation and planning personnel to elect village, hamlet and quarter chiefs for the 2025-2027 term, it shows that the number of changes compared to the 2022-2024 term is about 20-30%, mainly the current village chiefs who have resigned from their duties... The number of new personnel who will replace the village chiefs who have resigned is being carefully reviewed, publicly, democratically, and reviewed from the grassroots level up.
It is known that the election of village chiefs is being closely followed by Dam Ha district in accordance with current legal regulations, in which the district continues to implement the model of Party cell secretary who is also the village chief according to the model "People trust - Party elects".
