Since its release, the horror film Cam has attracted the attention of audiences with the participation of a familiar cast. Among them, Thuy Diem plays the role of Ba Ke - a character who causes many changes in the village chief's family, the source of many events.
This is the first time Thuy Diem has acted in a movie after 15 years of acting with hundreds of television roles. The actress said she put a lot of effort into this character.

"It's common for a stepmother to mistreat her husband's child, but in the movie Cam , Thuy Diem's character Ba Ke rejects and abandons her own biological child. That's why this role is extremely scary to me.
I asked a lot of questions when I received the script, about why she didn't feel sorry for Cam's poor fate, why she rejected her child right after birth, and when Cam grew up, she was the one who beat and scolded her child. I was afraid of my character because of that cruelty," Thuy Diem said.
The actress said that for that reason, she once wanted to refuse to play the role of the Stepmother: "When you cannot convince yourself about the character, it is difficult to make the audience understand. After carefully studying the script, I felt that this character had many hidden corners to exploit and I wanted to challenge myself to become a special stepmother in the story of Tam Cam."
Having played many different roles, this was the first time Thuy Diem had to torture and mistreat her own daughter on screen with beatings and harsh insults. Because of that, the actress had many haunted nights.
"I kept dreaming about throwing grains of rice at my child's face. One night on set, I couldn't sleep thinking about the slap I gave the child actress. Hitting an adult is completely different from hitting a child, especially when the child has done nothing wrong to you," the actress confided.

The scene that haunted Thuy Diem the most was the controversial part of the fairy tale Tam Cam: The stepmother ate fish sauce made from Cam's flesh.
"When watching the movie, I believe the audience will feel terrified, even nauseous. But I feel 10 times more scared than that. It is really a difficult scene to express the pain and fear through facial expressions."
