Farmers adapt to digital transformation
In recent times, digitalization in agricultural production has been widely and effectively applied by many enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments in the province. Many enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments have boldly applied modern technology and digital transformation in care, monitoring, and management using information technology via phones and computers; products are registered with stamps, labels, codes, and barcodes to facilitate transactions and product consumption connections.
A typical example is the Tuan Linh Clean Mushroom Production and Agricultural Business Cooperative (in Son Loc commune, Bo Trach). The Cooperative is one of the pioneers in applying scientific and technical advances, gradually innovating in production to bring products to the market. Up to now, to manage the entire production process, quantity of finished products, monitor revenue and progress of distribution of orders, the Cooperative has flexibly applied the KiotViet App, FaceFarm production diary software, ROSY erp production management (human resource management), digital signature, electronic invoice issuance... The previous manual management steps of the Cooperative have now been replaced by modern and effective software. With just a few clicks on the computer or the app installed on the smartphone, all information about the production process, quantity of goods consumed, expiry date, and distribution progress on the market are displayed, making it easy to manage the production activities of the unit.
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of the Cooperative Nguyen Quoc Huong said: Currently, the Cooperative has 13 products processed from mushrooms, such as: Ganoderma lucidum fruiting bodies, Ganoderma lucidum powder, Ganoderma lucidum tea, fresh oyster mushrooms, emperor mushrooms, vegetarian fish sauce from mushrooms... which have met 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards, typical rural industrial products at the provincial and regional levels and are available at many supermarket chains nationwide as well as on e-commerce sites: Buudien.vn, voso.vn, quangbinhtrade.vn...

At large-scale livestock farms, to limit workers entering and exiting the barn, farm owners have boldly invested in automatic feeding and drinking systems, sensor systems to control barn temperature, monitor livestock care on computers or TV screens... Thanks to that, livestock products are of high quality, meeting requirements on productivity, disease control, ensuring food safety... In aquaculture, high-tech shrimp farming models have also initially applied science and technology, managing environmental factors, food quantity... The application of software on phones has also contributed to limiting damage caused by diseases, improving production efficiency.
Accompanying the people
In recent times, in order to help farmers change their mindset and implement digital transformation in agricultural production, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) has increased communication to encourage farmers to proactively participate in connecting and consuming products on e-commerce platforms; build a software system to manage growing areas, packaging facilities, and manage breeding areas and livestock farms.
In developing the digital economy, the Department has directed and guided enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments to promote the application of digital technology in management, production, traceability, and product trade. In particular, it has enhanced the introduction and promotion of OCOP products on digital platforms, contributing to promoting the digital agricultural economy. Thereby, contributing to promoting brands and expanding the consumption market for agricultural products.
However, according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the process of digital transformation in the agricultural sector still faces many difficulties and challenges. In particular, the participation of enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments is still limited; digital technology applied to production and consumption promotion to improve product quality and value, meeting market demands is not high; digital agricultural society, sharing and exploiting agricultural information to serve production and social life still has many shortcomings; farming households and many enterprises, cooperatives, and production establishments are still limited in using computers and smart mobile devices...
Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Dinh Hiep said: Digital transformation in agricultural production has had many positive results, not only contributing to improving product quality, creating competition but also creating an opportunity to change the production mindset from small-scale, fragmented, inefficient, and lacking chain linkages to advanced agriculture. In the coming time, the department will continue to propagate and disseminate content and legal policies to raise awareness among farmers about e-Government, digital Government, digital transformation in general and digital transformation in agriculture and rural areas in particular; organize the dissemination of digital skills for farmers to use digital services of state management agencies on agriculture and rural areas through socialized activities; focus on attracting enterprises and cooperatives to invest in agriculture, implementing digital transformation, creating a closed, synchronous production process and forming a chain of commodity production linkages.
To date, there are 168 OCOP products recognized as 3 stars or higher (including 28 4-star products, 140 3-star products), 100% of OCOP products are fully posted on the website: http://ocop.quangbinh. The consumption of products on digital platforms has increased sharply, contributing to economic improvement, promoting the potential and advantages of localities.
By 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development strives for 80% of the province's key agricultural products to be supported in introducing, promoting and consuming on e-commerce platforms; 30% of OCOP products to have traceability; applying AI technology to build a traceability system for agricultural products; expanding the area of upland crops, applying smart irrigation and water-saving irrigation measures...
