Give love, receive joy
Talking with Secretary of the Youth Union of Dong Ha City Medical Center Nguyen Ngoc Hoa (born in 1994), we felt from him a sense of responsibility in professional work as well as in organizing exciting and effective youth union activities.

In 2012, Mr. Hoa passed the entrance exam for the Faculty of Dentistry, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. “In college, I studied hard with the goal of becoming a highly skilled doctor after graduation. Besides, I actively participated in clubs such as the Live Blood Bank Club, the Blue Blouse Club, the Patient Support Club... and many other volunteer activities,” Mr. Hoa said.
After graduating from university, he returned to his hometown and has been working at Dong Ha City Medical Center since the beginning of 2021. In addition to improving his expertise, he and the Nguyen Hoang Alumni Volunteer Group regularly connect and give meals and gifts from domestic and foreign benefactors to inpatients at the center; actively participate in union activities, youth movements organized by Dong Ha City Youth Union and free medical examination and medicine distribution activities of the Quang Tri Provincial Young Physicians Association.
At work, Mr. Hoa always completes all assigned tasks well, wholeheartedly for patients; regularly attends seminars and scientific conferences nationwide to update new knowledge to bring the best treatment results for patients; actively researches to come up with innovative solutions, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.
In 2022, when taking on the role of Secretary of the Youth Union of Dong Ha City Medical Center, Mr. Hoa devoted more enthusiasm to building a strong youth union organization and implementing many practical activities for the community. With the slogan: "Youth of Dong Ha City Medical Center is strong in expertise, good at professional skills; united, creative, proactive, volunteering, excellently completing all assigned tasks", the youth union members made a strong impression through activities of examining and providing free medicine to people in remote areas. One of the activities that Mr. Hoa was most excited about was participating in the free dental examination and treatment program in Vinh Khe commune, Vinh Linh district, in the summer of 2024.
“This is the first voluntary dental examination and treatment activity in Quang Tri that involves clinical intervention on patients (normally, voluntary examinations only include examination, consultation and free medicine distribution). At the program, I, along with doctors from Cho Ray Hospital, Quang Ngai General Hospital and a group of maxillofacial doctors from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, examined, consulted and filled teeth, extracted teeth and removed tartar for free for 130 students and many local people. For me, bringing love to the community is a meaningful journey that everyone, especially the younger generation, needs to be ready to take the lead in,” Dr. Hoa shared.
Spread positive values
In recent times, the Cam Lo District Medical Center Youth Union has had many meaningful programs and tasks, creating a strong influence in the community. Contributing to these common achievements is the role of Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Thuy Nga (born in 1992), Deputy Head of the Department of Traditional Medicine - Rehabilitation. This leader has "inspired" and led the members of the Youth Union to promote the spirit of dedication and youthfulness.

Working for nearly 10 years at Cam Lo District Medical Center, Thuy Nga is a young, dynamic, dedicated and professional doctor. As a member of the Youth Union, she always actively participates in activities launched by the Youth Union, the District Youth Union and movements launched by the higher-level Youth Union. In 2024, she was assigned to take on the role of Secretary of the Youth Union. For Dr. Thuy Nga, this is a task but also an opportunity for her to spread good values to the community.
“When I first took on the task, I struggled a lot to find a way to develop the movement of the Youth Union more strongly. The nature of the medical profession means that the members have a busy schedule and do not have much time to participate in activities and activities of the Youth Union. Therefore, organizing activities in a suitable way that attracts everyone's participation is a challenge. However, like many other Youth Union leaders, I am clearly aware of my role, from which I strive and devote a lot of energy to promoting the movement,” she confided.
To mobilize the strength of solidarity and the spirit of dedication in each member, Thuy Nga implements union movements associated with professional tasks; optimizing activity time. Movements and volunteer activities are prioritized to be flexibly organized according to shifts so that union members can participate without affecting their work.
In addition, the Youth Union innovates the method of organizing movements, diversifying the content of activities; proactively integrating activities and movements of the Youth Union into medical expertise. Promote communication work via social networks to help members easily grasp information and register to participate. Encourage members to propose initiatives to improve the effectiveness of activities, and promptly recognize and commend individuals with good achievements and positive contributions.
With many highly effective solutions, the rate of Cam Lo District Medical Center Youth Union members participating in the movement has increased; free medical examination and treatment programs and humanitarian blood donation are organized regularly, helping hundreds of patients in difficult circumstances. “Being able to contribute is a happiness for me as well as for many union members who are doctors and nurses across the country. Through union activities, I have trained myself and matured in all aspects, better understanding the power of solidarity, the spirit of dedication and contribution to the community,” Thuy Nga shared.
