Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee works with KOICA on the progress of the project "Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities in Quang Tri Province"

The project "Construction of a Social Protection and Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled in Quang Tri Province" using KOICA's non-refundable ODA capital was approved by the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province in Decision No. 2663/QD-UBND dated November 7, 2024 with a total investment of more than VND 293.3 billion, the project implementation period is from 2022 to 2025. After that, the People's Committee of the province approved the adjustment of some contents in Decision No. 732/QD-UBND dated March 12, 2025, with the project implementation period adjusted from 2022 to 2027 and assigned the Quang Tri Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board to manage the project.

The construction work plan in the second quarter of 2025 will approve the construction drawing design, construction estimate and organize the selection of contractors; in the third quarter of 2025, the construction contract will be signed and construction of the project works will begin. From the third quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2026, the construction will be organized and the construction and installation part will be completed for use in 2027.

KOICA Vietnam Deputy Country Director Lee Gunwoo thanked the provincial leaders and relevant departments, agencies and units for creating favorable conditions for the KOICA delegation in the process of taking preparatory steps to implement the project. At the same time, he hoped that the Provincial People's Committee would continue to direct relevant units to continue to actively coordinate and work together to remove difficulties and obstacles to implement this project in the most favorable way.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam affirmed that Quang Tri province will work with KOICA to remove difficulties and obstacles to find solutions to effectively implement the project and strive to start the project in early July 2025.

In order for the project to be implemented on schedule, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam requested KOICA and the consulting and design units to promptly complete the design documents, construction drawings and estimates, and other procedures according to regulations so that Quang Tri province can consider speeding up the appraisal steps and completing the procedures. Coordinate smoothly with relevant units of the province in implementing components such as: equipment procurement, training, coaching... so that the project brings high efficiency when put into operation.
