Attract and inspire students to volunteer

Two important contents in the annual work program were discussed, including the draft plan to organize the "Green Summer" student volunteer campaign and the plan to organize the "Exam Support" program in 2024.

Inspire volunteering

According to the plan, the "Supporting the Exam Season" program will take place from April to August, peaking in June. This year, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association will promote the use of celebrities and public figures in activities to support the spirit, provide psychological counseling, skills, and experience for candidates.

Along with that, build an online exam season handbook, an exam season handbook publication for provinces and cities across the country, with content focusing on psychological counseling, exam season health...

Meanwhile, the 2024 "Green Summer" student volunteer campaign will last from June to August, taking place in key areas such as youth start-up villages, disadvantaged villages, and areas with 16 ethnic minorities with very few people living there.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association - said that with two main groups of contents, he closely followed the general direction of the Youth Union in the "Year of Youth Volunteers", implementing 3 linkages (connecting forces, connecting areas and connecting objects), focusing on key and difficult areas.

Regarding the plan to implement the volunteer campaigns "Green Summer" and "Supporting the exam season", Mr. Triet suggested that the Association's chapters at all levels should propose more content and new ways to implement them in a practical and effective way, inspiring students.

"The goal is to create conditions for a large number of students to participate in volunteer activities," said Mr. Triet.

Resolving difficulties for students with tuition fees

Besides contributing ideas to the main content of the conference, the secretaries also took time to share about the difficulties and problems that students are facing this school year.

Including information that some universities will increase tuition fees in the 2023-2024 school year according to Decree No. 97 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 81 regulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system.

"Students are very concerned about this issue, some schools have organized dialogues with students to resolve difficulties. I hope that our Association can coordinate to implement many credit programs for students, have loan funds to support students, and solve difficulties in the context of skyrocketing market prices" - a member expressed his opinion.

Sharing more about this content, the Hanoi City Student Association said that recently, Hanoi has cooperated with a number of credit organizations to increase loans and provide financial support for students to solve difficulties.

In addition, discussing more about the Vietnamese Student app, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet said that students are the leading force in digital transformation, however, the Vietnamese Student app currently does not meet the needs of students. Therefore, the Association needs to calculate and update new content to be determined to carry out digital transformation among students.

At the conference this morning, the members also focused on discussing the draft Study Plan, implementing the resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Students' Association and the emulation and reward regulations of the Vietnam Students' Association for the 2023-2028 term.
