At this time, bookstores and stationery stores attract many parents and students to shop for school supplies.

This year, students of preschool, general education and continuing education in the province will return to school on August 26, while grade 1 students will return to school on August 19. The general atmosphere in recent days at bookstores and stationery stores such as Tu Chon, Van Lang, Cong Doan, Zo Zo; Go! The products that are consumed strongly in large quantities are mainly: Notebooks, pens, colored pens, ballpoint pens, backpacks, test papers... The prices of books and school supplies this year have not fluctuated much compared to previous years.

Specifically, notebooks and test papers of domestically produced brands such as Hai Tien, Bai Bang, Hong Ha, Thien Long... have many different designs, paper materials, thicknesses, and sizes, with prices ranging from 6,000 - 15,000 VND/book; pencils and ballpoint pens cost from 3,000 - 10,000 VND/piece; highlighters and erasers cost from 8,000 - 20,000 VND/piece...

Tu Chon Bookstore, Gia Cam Ward, Viet Tri City arranges science books by grade, convenient for students to choose.

At Tu Chon bookstore, Gia Cam ward, Viet Tri city in the late afternoon, the number of students and parents coming to choose books and school supplies is higher than the same time last month, especially in the evening. Over 1,000 textbooks, reference materials, advanced books, and school supplies are scientifically arranged by grade and class, with specific instructions, helping parents and students to easily choose.

Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Xuan - Store Manager said: "Starting from June, the store has reviewed and evaluated the demand for books to prepare appropriate sources of goods, close to the reality and needs of consumers. Regarding school supplies, the bookstore has also fully prepared essential tools with many different designs, qualities, and forms, but the common feature is that all information is transparent, with clear origin and source."

The abundance of goods, guaranteed quality, and stable prices have helped parents and students easily choose suitable products; at the same time, they also save a part of the cost when the new school year begins.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - Minh Phuong ward, Viet Tri city, on average, when entering the school year, the cost of books and school supplies for each child ranges from 1.5 to 2 million VND. Therefore, when buying goods, in addition to paying attention to criteria such as: Manufacturing brand, origin and certification of meeting standards, I also "hunt" for promotional programs to tighten spending, reduce pressure when the new school year has many expenses.

Understanding the psychology of customers, the system of bookstores, supermarkets, and stationery stores has implemented promotional programs to stimulate consumption. At the GO! Viet Tri supermarket system, the program "Happy to go to school - Full of energy" has been implemented, applied from August 8 to August 21, 2024. Many products serving the new school year such as: Backpacks reduced from 299,000 VND to 189,000 VND/item; buying 10 48-page squared notebooks reduced from 110,000 VND to 75,000 VND; school supplies such as notebooks, pencil boxes, crayons, pens, rulers... are on sale up to 46%. Market Management Team No. 5 checks textbooks and school supplies at Tham Khai Bookstore, Thanh Son town, Thanh Son district.

Faced with the bustling demand for purchasing school supplies during the back-to-school season, to prevent the situation of fake books and poor quality school supplies, the Market Management Department (MMD) has requested MM teams in districts, urban areas, especially rural areas, to effectively manage the area, apply professional measures, and proactively coordinate with functional agencies to strengthen inspection and handling of violations of textbooks and school supplies; especially on social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms; at the same time, through inspection and propaganda activities to businesses and people to raise awareness of law compliance in the business of books and school supplies, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of manufacturers and consumers.

In addition to the involvement of authorities, customers also need to become smart consumers in carefully researching information about distributors and origins to avoid buying fake, counterfeit, and poor quality goods... contributing to creating more joy and motivation to help "future buds" get ready for the new school year.
