Attending the ceremony were former Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, former Secretary of Gia Lam District Party Committee Le Quy Don and representatives of Gia Lam district leaders, cadres and people of Trau Quy town.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of Trau Quy Town People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong said that through historical periods, during the reign of King Minh Mang, Trau Quy land belonged to Gia Lam district, Thuan An prefecture, Bac Ninh province. On May 31, 1961, implementing Decision No. 78/CP of the Government Council, Trau Quy area was merged into Hanoi city with the name of Quang Trung I commune.
By 1966, Quang Trung I commune was renamed Trau Quy commune. Implementing the development plan of Hanoi capital and Gia Lam district until 2020, on January 5, 2005, the Government issued Decree No. 05/2005 on adjusting administrative boundaries, establishing wards in Ba Dinh and Cau Giay districts and establishing Trau Quy town, Gia Lam district, Hanoi city on the basis of the entire natural area and population of Trau Quy commune from April 1, 2005.
Over the past 20 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Trau Quy town have united, promoted the spirit of initiative and creativity, taken advantage of favorable conditions, and strived to overcome difficulties to organize, implement and successfully complete assigned tasks; the town has nearly 3,000 enterprises and business households with diverse industries and fields... In 2005, the total state budget revenue in the town reached 3.62 billion VND, by 2024 it reached 58.7 billion VND, an increase of 16.2 times compared to 2005; average income increased 17.4 times, from 5 million VND/person/year (in 2005) to 87 million VND/person/year (in 2025).
The town has invested thousands of billions of VND to implement more than 100 basic construction projects, technical infrastructure, economic and social infrastructure, works serving people's lives...; the infrastructure is synchronized, the urban face is formed and gradually developed spacious, modern, civilized, bright - green - clean - beautiful; the rate of families achieving the title of "Cultural Family" is 97.5%; the rate of cultural residential groups is 100%... Social policies are well implemented, the rate of poor and near-poor households has decreased sharply from 3.5% in 2005 to 0% of poor households in 2020 and from 2021 to present, Trau Quy town has maintained no poor or near-poor households.
The efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Trau Quy town over the past 20 years have been recognized by the Party and the State. The town was honored to receive the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces", the Second Class Medal of Resistance against the French; the town's Party Committee has been recognized for 15 years as: "A clean and strong Party Committee", "A Party Committee that excellently completes its tasks"; the people and cadres of Trau Quy town have been awarded the "Excellent Unit in the Emulation Movement" flag by the Government and the Hanoi People's Committee 8 times, 5 certificates of merit from the City People's Committee and many other noble awards.
Speaking to acknowledge and praise the achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Trau Quy town, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lam District People's Council Nguyen Tien Viet requested Trau Quy town to continue to perform well the key tasks: Promote propaganda work, thoroughly and promptly concretize the requirements and tasks assigned by the central government and the city, especially Resolution No. 57-NQ/TU on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Conclusion No. 126-KLTU, Conclusion No. 127-KL/TU of the Politburo and the Secretariat on innovation and reorganization of the political system apparatus; determined to successfully implement the policy of innovation and reorganization of the political system apparatus to be streamlined, operate smoothly, effectively, efficiently and effectively to meet the requirements and tasks in the new period; strictly implement Directive No. 24/CT-TU of the City Party Committee, Plan No. 150/KH-HU of the District Party Committee on strengthening discipline, discipline and responsibility in handling work in the political system; focus on promoting socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security and improving the lives of people in the area...
On this occasion, many collectives and individuals of Trau Quy town were awarded by the People's Committee of Gia Lam district and Trau Quy town for their outstanding achievements in the 20 years of construction and development.
