A South Korean airline launched its first direct flight from Cheongju to Da Nang early this morning, aiming to meet the growing travel demand of Korean tourists.
Aero K's flight carrying 170 passengers landed at Da Nang International Terminal (Terminal T2) in the early morning of February 6. The airline representative said that Da Nang is the first city in Vietnam that the airline has chosen to operate flights to, in order to open up more opportunities and options for tourists to travel between Cheongju and Da Nang.
The airline operates the Cheongju - Da Nang route with a frequency of one flight per day, departing from Cheongju at 22:05 and landing in Da Nang at 00:45. The return flight departs from Da Nang at 02:15 the same morning.

Currently, T'way Airlines also operates the Cheongju - Da Nang route with a frequency of one flight per day.
South Korea is the leading international market for Da Nang tourism. Every day there are 23 to 25 flights from major cities such as Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Muan, Cheongju to the city, accounting for more than 50% of the total number of international flights to Da Nang.
Cheongju is the only international airport in Chungcheong Province, and is the second busiest in South Korea after Incheon and Gimpo. The airport's main international flights operate to and from China and Japan. It is the first stop when arriving in Chungcheong Province, which is home to many historical and modern attractions, according to the Korea Tourism Organization.
Da Nang International Terminal has 15 operating routes, with about 49 flights per day.
