Localities proactively responded to the risk of landslides, rockslides and floods; at the same time, 2,873 households, equivalent to 11,759 people in Quan Son, Thuong Xuan, Quan Hoa, Muong Lat, Ba Thuoc, Tho Xuan districts, Thanh Hoa city were evacuated. Floods damaged 168 houses due to landslides; 11 schools were affected by floods and landslides, mainly in Muong Lat, Quan Son, Ba Thuoc, Lang Chanh districts and a series of dykes, rivers and streams were affected and cracked. Landslides on positive and negative slopes occurred at 183 locations; of which 7 locations caused traffic jams in the border district of Muong Lat.

Notably, the situation of water seeping through the dike foot in Vinh An commune (Vinh Loc) was directly directed by Mr. Lai The Nguyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, on the night of September 23 to fix the problem.
