The “Ap ho Pang” (hair washing performance) performance is one of the most anticipated activities for visitors at the Then Kin Pang Festival.
On March 24, 2025, the People's Committee of Lai Chau province issued the Plan to organize the Then Kin Pang Festival in 2025. Accordingly, the Festival will take place for 02 days (from April 6 - April 7, 2025, or March 9 to March 10, 2025) in Khong Lao commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province with two parts: the Ceremony and the Festival, promising to bring delegates, people and tourists interesting experiences when attending.

The opening ceremony of the series of special activities of the Festival is the Traditional Ceremony at the Then house including: Then worship to open the festival and sanctify; Incense offering ceremony - cleansing and removing bad luck; Incense offering to make wishes - inviting Then, wishing for good luck; Then worship to pray for good luck and give thanks will take place at 7:30 am on April 7, 2025 (ie March 10 of the lunar calendar) at the Then house, Khong Lao village, Khong Lao commune, Phong Tho district and at 8:00 am, the Opening Ceremony of the Festival will take place at the yard of the Cultural House of Khong Lao commune, Phong Tho district with the ritual of sprinkling water for good luck and a special art program imbued with the cultural identity of the Thai ethnic group in Muong So.

In addition to the rituals of the Ceremony, from April 6 to April 7, 2025, many exciting activities will take place in the Festival such as: En Cay Competition, To Ma Le, Going around the stone circle, Walking on stilts, Throwing con, Fishing Competition; Experiencing folk games (Crossbow shooting, Throwing con, Blindfolded gong beating, To Ma Le, Going to Kieu bridge); Performing traditional costumes, exchanging arts and performing xoe dance; Competition to preserve traditional cultural values of the Thai ethnic group; Ethnic cuisine competition; Performing "Ap ho Pang" (hair washing performance); reenacting the river life of the Thai ethnic group (throwing nets, casting nets, sand casting...); experiencing water splashing.

Throughout the days of the Festival at the Cultural House of Khong Lao Commune, the Organizing Committee arranged spaces to display and introduce Thai ethnic culture; Space to display and introduce OCOP products, typical agricultural products of Phong Tho district so that visitors can feel more clearly about the beauty of traditional culture of Thai ethnic group in Phong Tho land and the typical specialties of this land.
Coming to the Festival, visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy Thai ethnic cuisine with extremely attractive decoration (illustrative photo)
This April, Lai Chau invites visitors from all over to Phong Tho land to immerse themselves in the flow of the Festival, to feel and love more the culture of the Thai people as well as the "Land - People" at the border of the Fatherland./.
