Students of Tan Lap Primary and Secondary School (Luc Yen District) were delighted with the "rain" of lucky money for Lunar New Year 2025 from the sponsorship of Agribank and readers of Tuoi Tre Newspaper.
On January 16, Tuoi Tre newspaper and Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union jointly presented more than 1,100 gifts to primary and secondary school students in Cuong Thinh commune (Tran Yen district) and Tan Lap commune (Luc Yen district) with a total value of over 1.1 billion VND. The funds were contributed by Agribank and Tuoi Tre newspaper readers.
According to Ms. Dang Thi Bich Ngoc - principal of Cuong Thinh Primary and Secondary School, after storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), 90% of the school's students were flooded, and many had their houses collapsed.
“Students had to stay home from school for a week due to mud blocking the roads. Teachers, locals, and soldiers joined hands to overcome the consequences of the storm and flood,” she said.
Witnessing students receiving shared Tet gifts and red envelopes, Ms. Ngoc said that this is the motivation and encouragement of Tuoi Tre newspaper, Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) and Tuoi Tre newspaper readers for students and parents during the Tet holiday.
“The weather here is very cold in the early winter mornings, with frost. New clothes will help keep the children warm when they go to school,” she shared.
Representatives of Tuoi Tre newspaper, Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union and local authorities presented clothes, lucky money and Tet gift bags to children at Cuong Thinh Primary and Secondary School (Tran Yen district).

Mr. Nguyen Duc Du – Principal of Tan Lap Primary and Secondary School – shared that the school’s students were very happy to receive shared Tet gifts. After Typhoon Yagi, the school had more than 200 students affected by flooding, books, and school supplies.
Mr. Hoang Ngoc Khanh, Deputy Director of Agribank Luc Yen District Branch, Agribank Bac Yen Bai, presented gifts to students in the 2025 Tet Sharing Program.
The happiness of the giver is shared with the joy of the students receiving Tet gifts.
The school itself was submerged in water for three days at a depth of 1.55m. Many classrooms were affected and equipment was damaged. “I hope there will be more benefactors who care and support students in the highlands with school supplies and books so that they can study with peace of mind,” he said.
Spend 4.5 billion VND for "Sharing Tet"
The 2025 “Sharing Tet” program is expected to give about 4,600 gifts to students in flood-affected areas, children with cancer, poor children and disadvantaged young workers... The total cost of 4.5 billion VND is contributed by the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) and readers of Tuoi Tre newspaper.
Of which, 3,000 gifts worth 3.2 billion VND (each gift includes 500,000 VND in cash and rice, Tet candy, warm clothes... worth 500,000 VND) for 3,000 primary and secondary school students in difficult circumstances in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang who were severely damaged by storm No. 3.
Along with that, 100 gifts (each gift includes 1.5 million VND and Tet gifts worth 500,000 VND) were given to 100 teachers and about 1,000 gifts for children with cancer in the program "Thuy's Dream" worth 800 million VND (800,000 VND/gift). In addition, there were 500 gifts for young workers with special difficulties worth 650 million VND in total.
