Techcombank supports customers to quickly complete information updates and biometric registration

Techcombank customers, including individuals and organizations, are continuously reminded and supported by the bank to update their identification documents and complete biometric information registration to ensure smooth and seamless transactions from January 1, 2025.

Pursuant to Circular 17 regulating the opening and use of payment accounts and Circular 18 regulating card operations of the State Bank, from January 1, 2025, account and card holders who have not completed updating valid identification documents will not be able to make any transfer, payment or withdrawal transactions on all banking channels, regardless of the value or type of transaction. For customers who have updated valid identification documents but have not registered biometrics, they will not be able to make all transactions on digital banking applications, money transfers and payments at ATMs/CDMs and online payment transactions by card. Responding to the process of updating identification documents and registering biometrics, most customers said that the steps are quite easy right on the Techcombank Mobile application and do not take too much time. With just a chip-embedded citizen identification card/ID card or a level 2 VneID account, customers can choose to update their identity documents and biometrics by scanning the citizen identification chip/ID card on a device that supports NFC (Near-Field Communications - short-range wireless connection) or linking to a level 2 VneID account on any device that supports Techcombank Mobile installation. In case customers have difficulty updating their identity documents and registering biometrics on Techcombank Mobile, customers can go to the nearest Techcombank transaction counter for timely instructions and support.

Techcombank offers various support methods for customers to update personal documents and biometrics.
Techcombank representative said: "The bank is actively reminding customers to complete the State Bank's regulations on biometric updates to ensure seamless, convenient and safe transactions. The entire system is making efforts to "go to war" and remind and support customers continuously on many communication channels. The bank also optimizes the process and increases support points nationwide to make it easier for customers to complete the update of identification documents and biometric registration. This is both the responsibility and commitment of Techcombank in bringing optimal service experiences to customers". Accordingly, Techcombank not only sends messages, calls, and emails to notify customers of support but also increases the number of staff at transaction counters to promptly support when customers have any requests related to updating identification documents and biometric registration. The update is deployed simultaneously by Techcombank on digital banking applications and at the bank's transaction counters. In addition, the bank also applies attractive promotional programs from November 1 to December 31. Each week, the first 6,000 customers who complete the biometric update will receive 50,000 Techcombank Rewards points on the Techcombank Mobile digital banking application. Completing the identity document update and biometric registration not only ensures continuous transaction rights for customers but also enhances the security of personal financial information, contributing to limiting fraudulent attacks in cyberspace. In addition, along with the urgent implementation of identity document update and biometric registration, Techcombank also continuously issues warnings to customers about common scams today. Authenticating customer identity with valid identity documents and biometric updates contributes to the health of online transaction spaces. Not only the elderly, but also young people, even customers of working age who are quick to use smart electronic devices are all vulnerable to cybercrime. Therefore, this is an important step in protecting customers from increasingly complex security risks.
