Improving competitiveness in the digital economy: What do businesses really need? Organizing National E-commerce Week and Online Shopping Day 2023 from November 27

According to the Government's Master Plan for National E-commerce Development for the 2021-2025 period, the task set out for human resource development for e-commerce is to "Develop and organize e-commerce training programs for students associated with specific majors, with the participation of large domestic and foreign e-commerce enterprises.

Connecting the need for e-commerce human resource recruitment between schools and businesses and the community", striving by 2025 to have "50% of higher education and vocational education institutions implementing e-commerce training; 1,000,000 businesses, business households, state management officials, and students participating in training courses on e-commerce application skills".

To implement this plan, the Forum was organized to create opportunities for students to access knowledge about the profession, recruitment requirements of businesses, as well as advice on learning and development paths in the field of e-commerce and digital economy. The Forum also provides career counseling services for students after graduation through business information booths, encourages students to research, participate in competitions and implement creative ideas in the field of e-commerce and digital economy.

At the Forum, digital transformation and e-commerce experts shared about new trends in digital business with many important contents, overview of e-commerce and new business trends in the field; the important role of digital brand identification in the online environment.

The speakers also pointed out outstanding methods and solutions that businesses prioritize applying in digital business, including multi-channel business and business on e-commerce platforms such as SAPO, Haravan and Shopee; trends in applying technology and artificial intelligence to e-commerce, human resource needs and training status in the field of e-commerce and digital economy.

SAPO training expert Tran Manh Cuong said that today's buyers are everywhere. Therefore, businesses and traders also need to appear in many places to meet the needs of consumers. To do this, digital economy and e-commerce are extremely effective methods for businesses and sellers.

“The benefits of multi-channel sales help triple conversion rates and revenue by attracting more new customers from different channels and expanding brand awareness,” Mr. Cuong affirmed.

Mr. Cuong also said that e-commerce also helps increase contact points and touch points with customers, has many opportunities to strongly impact the psychology and shopping emotions of customers; increase competitiveness with competitors; optimize investment budget, expand business scale without necessarily opening more branches. The trend of expanding multi-channel sales in 2022 is clearly shown with 57.65% of multi-channel sales in stores and online sales; only 17.35% sell online, most will sell on at least 2 online platforms.

Sharing about doing business through e-commerce platforms, Shopee seller training specialist Vu Phuong Anh affirmed that this is an inevitable trend. Currently, e-commerce platforms are developing strongly, creating many opportunities for sellers to reach consumers. In return, consumers have a choice of diverse, rich, beautiful designs and competitive prices.

Therefore, to take advantage of this trend, sellers need to learn and make the most of the features in e-commerce platforms to reach and attract customers.
