On the morning of May 22, in Sam Neua town, Hua Phan province (Lao PDR), the working delegation of the Steering Committee 515 of Thanh Hoa province and the Special Working Group of Hua Phan province received and handed over the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the resistance wars in Laos in the dry season of 2022-2023, and signed a memorandum of coordination on the search and collection of martyrs' remains in the dry season of 2023-2024.

Comrade Duong Van Hue, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Head of Steering Committee 515 of Thanh Hoa province and Colonel Phan Si Xon My Say, Political Commissar, Provincial Military Command, Head of the Special Work Committee of Hua Phan province, chaired the conference.

In the dry season of 2022-2023, under the condition that information about the burial places of martyrs is increasingly scarce, the accuracy is not high, the weather and climate are complicated, but with the direction of the Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 4 and Thanh Hoa province, especially with the help of the Special Working Group, the government and the people of the tribes of Hua Phan province, the Collection Team under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command overcame all difficulties, organized surveys, searches, collected, and brought back to the country for burial 16 graves of remains (achieving 106.66% of the planned target).

In the process of performing its tasks, the Collection Team always strictly complies with state laws, military discipline, traditional culture, customs and practices when interacting with the people; regularly coordinates with Party committees and authorities at all levels to promote propaganda to the people about the special friendship between the two provinces and the two ethnic groups of Vietnam and Laos, helping people in labor, production, medical examination and treatment, providing free medicine to the people, repairing means and production machinery; at the same time, collecting and exploiting information about martyrs and martyrs' graves, in order to improve the effectiveness of searching, collecting and repatriating martyrs' remains according to the minutes of coordination and cooperation signed between the Special Working Groups of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces.

Regarding the direction of coordination in searching and collecting martyrs' remains in the dry season of 2023-2024, the Steering Committee 515 of Thanh Hoa province and the Special Working Group of Hua Phan province agreed: Continue to coordinate and direct the work of surveying, searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the resistance wars in Hua Phan province (Laos). Step up propaganda and mobilization work to mobilize all ethnic groups in Hua Phan province to provide information, participate in surveys, guide the way, and point out grave locations to the Collection Team when the Team performs its tasks in the dry season of 2023-2024. Regularly exchange and learn from experiences, focus on directing and promoting the work of searching and collecting martyrs' remains in the area, strengthen coordination in inspecting, evaluating results, and promptly commending and rewarding organizations and individuals of each side with outstanding achievements in performing their tasks.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Duong Van Hue, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee 515 of Thanh Hoa province expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the ethnic groups of Hua Phan province, especially the Special Working Group of Hua Phan province, for their wholehearted support so that the Steering Committee 515 of the province and the Collection Team under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command could search for, collect and repatriate the remains of 16 martyrs in the 2023-2024 dry season to successfully complete the assigned tasks. At the same time, he wished that the special and great relationship and tradition between Vietnam and Laos and the two provinces of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan would "be forever green and forever sustainable".

On this occasion, the Special Working Committee of Hua Phan province awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the dry season gathering work of 2022-2023.
