According to the police, through professional work, Da Nang police discovered a ring with signs of producing and trading fake textbooks operating in multiple provinces with many participants.

Da Nang police have established a special project to focus on fighting and eliminating this fake textbook production and trading ring.

Applying professional measures, on June 14, the task force caught a number of suspects residing in An Hai Bac ward, Son Tra district (Da Nang) for trading in counterfeit goods.

Searching the group's residence, police discovered hundreds of boxes of books of various types suspected of being counterfeit.

Continuing to expand the investigation, the task force coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Police to arrest Nguyen Trung Luat (43 years old, residing in District 12), Pham Ngoc Quang (47 years old, residing in Go Vap District), the two suspects leading a large-scale fake textbook production and trading ring in Ho Chi Minh City.

The police force also arrested many other people, including the printing factory manager, the supplier to the provinces, market survey staff, and those who received and delivered books for sale.

Initially determined around the beginning of 2022, Luat discussed and agreed with Quang - director of Quang Thang Advertising Company - to produce fake textbooks of Vietnam Education Publishing House and some other publishers. From there, the books will be brought to the market for consumption.

Luat provided printing paper and ordered quantities for Quang to organize the production of fake books at two printing factories in Ho Chi Minh City.

Quang Giao Pham Xuan Nang, workshop manager, runs all operations at the printing workshops.

Nang placed the zinc plate, discussed and agreed with Luat on the quantity, received payment, then transferred it back to Quang.

After printing, the paper is kept in its original size and transported to Luat's processing workshop for cutting, binding, affixing fake stamps, packing boxes, etc.

The books were taken to 3 warehouses to be hidden, waiting to be sold through wholesalers.

The number of fake textbooks discovered and seized by the police in Da Nang were ordered by some suspects here from wholesalers to resell to bookstores.

Police seized 1 million stamps, 600,000 fake finished and semi-finished books worth about 12 billion VND, along with all machinery, printing paper...

In just two years, this network sold about 4 million fake books.
