Summary of 50 years of Vietnamese Literature and Arts after the country's reunification: Selecting works of outstanding value

Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong listened to a report on the Plan to coordinate the organization of a National Conference to summarize 50 years of Vietnamese Literature and Arts after the country's reunification.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of Performing Arts; Department of Press; Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition; Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution; Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts; National Library of Vietnam.

At the meeting, the units reported on the implementation of the plan, difficulties and problems, and proposed solutions to implement the plan most effectively.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong emphasized: Summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese Literature and Arts after the country's reunification is a huge task with diverse and comprehensive activities. The Deputy Minister requested units to proactively coordinate and complete the work on schedule, especially the organization of the exhibition "50 years of Vietnamese Literature and Arts accompanying the nation".

The Deputy Minister requested that assigned units and related units urgently review and complete the planning, allocate resources, prepare carefully, and ensure harmony between the summary content and the creation and promotion of literary and artistic works.

Overview of the working session

The Deputy Minister also noted that the works selected for the exhibition not only have high artistic value but are also vivid visual marks of the struggle for national independence, national reunification and the construction and renovation process over the past half century, in various fields: cinema, literature and art, music, journalism, photography, performing arts... In particular, priority is given to works that have been awarded the State Prize, Ho Chi Minh Prize for literature and art; have won prizes at professional competitions and festivals organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Central Literature and Art Associations or have won prestigious international awards.

According to the plan of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the National Conference summarizing 50 years of Vietnamese Literature and Arts after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will be held on the morning of April 25, 2025 at the Dien Hong Conference Room, National Assembly Building (Hanoi). This conference has special significance when looking back at the 50-year journey of Vietnamese Literature and Arts since the country's reunification. From there, raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, localities, and units about the position, role, and importance of literature and arts; encourage and motivate the artists to continue to promote their talent, intelligence, solidarity, and enthusiasm to create many works of high ideological and artistic value, contributing to the development of advanced Vietnamese culture, literature, and art imbued with national identity, making a worthy contribution to the cause of national construction and development in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise./.
