Quang Dung bus driver overtook a truck and an accident occurred.

(NLDO) - Quang Dung's passenger bus overtook a truck traveling in the same direction and then crashed into another passenger bus, causing 3 casualties.

On December 16, Bu Dang District Police are coordinating with professional units of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police to investigate the cause of a serious traffic accident that left 3 people injured and dead in the area.

Previously, at around 8:30 a.m. on December 15, a Quang Dung passenger bus driven by driver Hoang Van Khanh (born in 1973, from Quang Tri) was traveling from Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province to Quang Tri province. There was also an assistant driver, two conductors and 15 passengers on the bus.

The bus was blocking the road.

At around 12 o'clock, the bus continued to run on National Highway 14, from Dong Xoai City to Dak Nong Province. When reaching km895+200 of National Highway 14 (section belonging to Son Lang village, Phu Son commune, Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province), driver Khanh switched to the left lane to overtake a truck traveling in the same direction.

While overtaking, the passenger van driven by Khanh collided with the passenger van driven by Le Dinh Thao, which was traveling from Dak Nong to Dong Xoai City. The strong impact caused the front of both passenger vans to deform, causing many passengers to panic. Driver Thao died on the spot, and passengers on both passenger vans were injured.

Immediately after receiving the report, Bu Dang District Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Department of Binh Phuoc Province Police and professional units to conduct a crime scene investigation and take witness statements to clarify the cause.

Currently, the police are working with the bus driver and Quang Dung bus company to assist in the investigation.
