Recognizing the role of the Lion Dance performance art and the efforts to preserve and promote the cultural beauty of this art form, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Cultural Heritage decided to include the Chinese Lion Dance performance art in Ho Chi Minh City in the list of national intangible heritage.
At the ceremony to announce the decision on national intangible heritage with the art of Lion and Dragon performance held on the morning of March 30 at the City Theater Square (HCMC), the Department of Culture and Sports of HCMC also awarded the decision to rank historical-cultural relics at the city level to 7 famous places, including Long Binh Communal House, Long Hoa Communal House, An Khanh Communal House (Thu Duc City), Saigon University (District 5) and Trung Vuong High School, Tan Dinh Market, Mariamman Temple (District 1).
