Central and provincial leaders visit the mass grave of martyrs of the 3rd Sao Vang Division

(BD) - During a working trip to Binh Dinh, on the morning of March 30, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission , and the Central working delegation visited the mass grave of the martyrs of the 3rd Sao Vang Division in Dap Da ward (An Nhon town).

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, offered incense at the mass grave of martyrs of Battalion 6, Regiment 12 (Division 3 Sao Vang).

Joining the delegation were comrades: Ngo Dong Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Nguyen Phi Long - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee.

On the provincial leadership side, there were comrades: Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Kim Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Binh Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation respectfully observed a moment of silence, offered flowers and incense at the mass grave of the martyrs of the 3rd Sao Vang Division, to commemorate, express their respect and infinite gratitude, and remember the great contributions of the heroic martyrs to the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia lit incense at the large incense burner in front of the mass grave in memory of the martyrs of Battalion 6, Regiment 12 (Division 3 Sao Vang) who heroically sacrificed their lives in the Mau Than Spring Campaign of 1968.

Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung burned incense on each martyr's tombstone.

On January 18, 1968, officers and soldiers of Battalion 6, Regiment 12, 3rd Sao Vang Division secretly gathered in So Nam village to prepare for the Dap Da attack campaign, opening the Mau Than campaign in Binh Dinh. The battle was fierce, our soldiers fought steadfastly, did not retreat, and were determined to hold their positions. In that battle, 154 soldiers heroically sacrificed their lives.
