Early completion of site clearance for the 4th bridge project connecting Hai Phong

On August 23, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than - Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, jointly inspected the progress of the Hoa River Bridge Construction Investment Project. This is the 4th bridge connecting Hai Phong - Thai Binh after Nghin Bridge, Lo Dong Bridge and Hoa Bridge.

The investment project to build a bridge over the Hoa River has a length of 411.2m, a retaining wall of 140m, a bridge width of 22.5m; clearance BxH=30mx6m. Along with that, the connecting road will be built according to the scale of a level II plain road, with a cross-section width of 22.5m, a length of 1,882m and works on the route. The project belongs to group B traffic works with a total investment of more than 760 billion VND.

When completed, the project will shorten travel time between Thai Binh and Nam Dinh provinces with Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province, reducing the load on National Highway 10. In addition, it will create favorable conditions to attract investment, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, security and defense between Thai Binh Province and Hai Phong City.

According to information from the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (representing the investor), regarding site clearance for the project, the total land acquisition area on the Hai Phong City side is 7.43 hectares, involving 222 households.

Up to now, the local government has inventoried land, constructions and structures of 222 households, handed over premises to 211 households, and 11 households remain. Of these, 10 households have residential land and 1 household has land in the traffic corridor.

The total area reclaimed by Thai Binh province for the project is 1.62 hectares. Up to now, the People's Committee of Quynh Phu district has handed over 1.62 hectares of clean land to the construction unit.

Regarding construction work, contractors are currently focusing on implementing the following items: Bored piles, pedestals, bodies, and crown beams of the piers; Box retaining walls; Cement-reinforced soil piles for the roadbed; Super T beams. At the same time, 55/108 bored piles, 4/100 Super T beams, and 4/11 piers and abutments have been completed. The value of the completed work volume by August 20, 2024 is estimated at about 115/493.3 billion VND (approximately 23.3% of the contract value).

During the inspection, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than - Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee requested that Hai Phong City People's Committee urge Vinh Bao District People's Committee to promptly complete the project's site clearance work. At the same time, speed up the construction progress of related items according to plan.

In response to the request from Thai Binh province, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, requested Vinh Bao District People's Committee to focus on, actively propagate and mobilize households whose land is recovered, and complete the site clearance work before September 15, 2024.

In addition, for the construction unit, concentrate means, equipment, human resources, and materials to organize all construction teams simultaneously to close the bridge on December 23, 2024 and open the bridge to traffic on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2025).
