Identifying human resources as an important factor, enriching the cultural and spiritual life of miners, creating motivation for production and business, in recent years, the cultural and artistic movement has always been of interest to the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV). Therefore, many cultural and sports activities have been organized by units under the Group, attracting a large number of young workers to participate.
At the end of September, in Cam Pha City, the Dramatization Contest "Learning about the history of Vietnam's Coal Industry and the cultural traditions of miners, the traditions of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group in 30 years of construction and development" took place. 21 units with more than 300 contestants and actors brought performances: Dance, singing, animation, epic... which were invested in, elaborately staged, and rich in artistry. At the same time, it demonstrated a deep understanding and knowledge of the 30-year journey of construction and development of TKV; proposed practical solutions to contribute to making coal production one of the three pillars ensuring national energy security.
Held right after Typhoon No. 3 Yagi had just passed, the contest with soaring singing and singing eased the fatigue after working hours, created a joyful, excited, and united atmosphere, highlighting the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the miners; thereby encouraging the spirit of solidarity so that the young workforce can enthusiastically produce and work better.
“The first time I came to Quang Ninh - the cradle of the mining industry, and right at the time when the youth union members, cadres, workers and employees of the Group are competing towards the 30th anniversary of the Group's founding, for me it is truly a joy, pride and indescribable emotion. I brought to this contest 3 songs that I composed myself with cheerful, pure melodies and lyrics that encourage the youth union members to continue to devote their youth to building TKV stronger and stronger" - Ms. Le Thi Thuy Van, from Lao Cai Copper Smelting Branch of TKV Minerals Corporation, emotionally shared.
It can be affirmed that the miners' cultural tradition with the core values of "Discipline and Unity" is the source of great "internal strength" that helps the Group overcome all difficulties in the development journey, and is a solid foundation for the young generation of TKV to move forward.
Promoting that spirit, along with production labor movements; cultural and artistic activities to improve the spiritual life of workers are regularly organized by coal industry units, especially targeting the nearly 22,000 young workers, accounting for 1/3 of the Group's workforce.
With the policy of closely following the resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Party and the State; the content and form of organization are suitable for each locality where TKV units are located; cultural and sports activities have created many positive changes, have a wide spread, and have made an important contribution to improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, restoring health, and completing the production and business plans of the Group and its units.
To improve the quality and effectiveness of cultural and sports activities, bringing these activities into the lives of workers, TKV has issued many directive documents such as: Resolution 76-NQ/DU dated January 9, 2023 of the TKV Party Committee on strengthening leadership and direction in the work of preserving, embellishing and promoting traditional cultural values in the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Annual cultural and sports activities plan as a basis for TKV and its member units to implement.
Particularly, the Group's Youth Union and Quang Ninh Coal Union annually organize many sports competitions for young workers such as: Football, billiards, badminton, national sports competitions...; organize art competitions, drama competitions with the theme "Uncle Ho with miners and people of Quang Ninh", "Learning about the history of Vietnam's coal industry and the cultural traditions of miners, the traditions of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group in 30 years of construction and development"... At the same time, direct the affiliated Youth Union units to actively mobilize young union members to enthusiastically participate in cultural and sports activities organized by the Group. Each unit organizes at least 1 sports competition/year for cadres, workers and laborers to participate. Some Youth Union units maintain organizing birthday parties for young union members and workers every quarter in many forms such as giving gifts, cultural exchanges at the workers' dormitories...
"Promoting the pioneering and creative spirit of the Youth Union in organizing healthy and suitable cultural, artistic and sports playgrounds will create opportunities for the coal industry's Youth Union to promote its responsibility in participating in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural identity of the province in general and fostering the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the coal industry in particular. Thereby, creating a solid foundation for building a miner's culture - TKV culture to develop day by day, building the image of union members and young workers with the criteria of "Discipline - Unity - Loyalty - Humanity - Responsibility" - Mr. Hoang Viet Phuong, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Coal Union, affirmed.
