Son La Provincial Traffic Safety Committee deploys key tasks for the second quarter

On the morning of April 11, Comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee chaired an online conference to review the work of ensuring traffic order and safety in the first quarter and deploy key tasks in the second quarter of 2025. The conference was connected to districts, towns and cities throughout the province.

In the first quarter, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee directed many drastic and synchronous solutions to ensure traffic order and safety. The propaganda and dissemination of laws on traffic order and safety continued to be implemented in a diverse and effective manner. The functional forces increased patrols, controls, and handled more than 4,530 violations, collecting nearly 10 billion VND for the budget. The number of traffic accidents decreased by 20.41% and the number of injuries decreased by 17.02% compared to the same period in 2024. However, the number of deaths increased by 14.71%. Notably, there was a particularly serious traffic accident on National Highway 6 through Sap Vat commune, Yen Chau district, killing 6 people and injuring 9 others. In addition, 4 very serious accidents occurred in Bac Yen, Yen Chau, Van Ho and Phu Yen districts.

At the conference, delegates focused on analyzing the causes, discussing and proposing many solutions to improve the effectiveness of ensuring traffic order and safety in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Hong Minh emphasized that the key task in the coming time is to improve the effectiveness of state management of traffic, especially the management of transportation, vehicles and drivers. At the same time, he requested the relevant agencies to strictly implement the inspection of motor vehicles in accordance with regulations and review and adjust the road sign system, ensuring safety for traffic participants; units and localities closely coordinate, advise the Provincial People's Committee, propose to the Government and the Central Ministries and branches to continue to invest in promptly overcoming traffic accident hotspots and shortcomings in traffic organization. In addition, it is necessary to propose solutions to promptly handle newly emerging "black spots". The provincial police continue to launch peak patrols to control and handle violations of traffic safety order. At the same time, promote the application of technology and professional technical equipment to detect and handle violations. Educational institutions will coordinate with functional forces to strengthen traffic safety propaganda for students; carry out tasks and solutions to ensure smooth and safe traffic before, during and after the April 30 and May 1 holidays and the peak summer tourist season in 2025./.
