The 2nd Binh Dinh Province Youth Kickboxing Championship was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh Province in coordination with relevant departments, branches and units from June 24 to 29 with the participation of more than 130 athletes from 31 martial arts schools in Binh Dinh Province.

This tournament is the most powerful form of propaganda and introduction to promote the kickboxing training movement in Binh Dinh province. This is also an opportunity to check and evaluate the quality of the movement and the professional level of athletes in order to serve as a basis for orientation and building a team of coaches and athletes with expertise and depth in kickboxing in Binh Dinh province to participate in national, regional and international competitions.
According to Mr. Bui Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Binh Dinh province, kickboxing was introduced to Vietnam in 2009, when it was included in the competition system of the Asian Indoor Games. This is a martial art that fully converges the quintessence of the foundations of karate, muay and boxing.
Binh Dinh province's sports sector has quickly approached and flexibly helped traditional martial arts athletes get acquainted with training and competing in kickboxing at national tournaments, before focusing on investing in building a training roadmap for professional kickboxers.
Many people and tourists came to watch and cheer for the athletes competing in the Binh Dinh Province Youth Kickboxing Championship.
"The results have brought many achievements to high-performance sports in Binh Dinh province as well as contributed to the overall achievements of Vietnamese kickboxing in the international arena with 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal at the Asian Championship; 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal at the 3 most recent SEA Games. Binh Dinh, along with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, are the 3 leading units in developing kickboxing in Vietnam," Mr. Bui Trung Hieu emphasized.
Mr. Ta Xuan Chanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province, presented souvenir flags to the teams participating in the 2nd Binh Dinh province youth kickboxing championship.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ly, Deputy Head of Propaganda Department of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, presented flowers to the teams participating in the tournament.
Mr. Bui Trung Hieu added that in many localities of Binh Dinh province, gyms, fitness centers, and aesthetic gyms have introduced kickboxing into their training to meet the needs of sports enthusiasts. In addition to investing in gyms, equipment, tools, and qualified coaches, the facilities have also had policies to attract more and more students to participate. This is considered a trend, contributing to promoting the sports movement in the community.
