Pham Thoai Khuong missed his chance to join the national team because of... getting married.

In preparation for tournaments in 2025, most recently the Asian Men's Club Championship - AVC Champions League taking place in May, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation has revealed the list of national men's volleyball team with 4 coaching staff members and 18 athletes.

There are many changes compared to 2024, in which the setter position is completely different from last year. Dinh Van Tu and Nguyen Huynh Anh Phi are not on the list of national team calls this year, instead there are Dinh Van Duy, Pham Thoai Khuong and Phan Cong Duc.

If Dinh Van Duy is sure to be on the team, the remaining spot is a competition between Thoai Khuong and Cong Duc. In which, setter Thoai Khuong, who is playing for Ho Chi Minh City Police, is considered to have more experience.

However, Pham Thoai Khuong could not participate in this national team call-up. The reason is that right after the end of the Hung Vuong Cup, the hot boy born in 1995 immediately returned to his family to prepare for the wedding.

It is known that Pham Thoai Khuong's wedding will take place in April. Therefore, he cannot join the national team to prepare for the AVC Champions League taking place in early May in Japan.

Thoại Khương is one of the outstanding setters of men's volleyball today. Over the years, he has played for many different teams such as TP.HCM, Lavie Long An, the Cambodian Ministry of Interior Club and most recently the HCM City Police. As a setter with an outstanding height of 1m85, Thoại Khương is therefore effective in blocking and has good pass correction ability.

In addition to Thoại Khương, the HCM City Police also has another athlete called up to the national team this time, the Cham athlete Che Quoc Vo Lit. The 1m98 tall middle blocker promises to be an exciting new element of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team in the near future.
