Exciting Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2024

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign has officially launched. After the provincial-level launching ceremony organized by the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) in Kim Son district, the Youth Union, Associations and youths across the province enthusiastically responded with many specific and practical activities, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the first stage of the campaign.

The launching ceremony of the 2024 Provincial Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign was held at Kim Mau Theater (Kim Son District) on the morning of May 31, with the participation of more than 500 union members, youth, and volunteers from across the province. After the youthful, vibrant rhythms of songs about youth, a series of campaign opening activities with practical values and profound humanity were held.

Specifically, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union have connected and mobilized resources from many sponsors to present 20 health insurance books to people in difficult circumstances; presented 35 gifts to veterans who are soldiers of Truong Son and children in difficult circumstances; supported 50 million VND to build a Red Scarf house for team members in difficult circumstances of Kim Trung commune (Kim Son district)...

In addition, the Provincial Youth Union also supported Kim Son District Youth Union with resources to build a website to promote propaganda on cyberspace; supported trash bins to build a model of a bright-green-clean-beautiful, civilized-safe road; and at the same time, disbursed a loan of 650 million VND for 5 economic development models of young religious followers in the district.

These practical activities have contributed to spreading the spirit of volunteerism, igniting the enthusiasm and desire to contribute to society of Ninh Binh youth. The evidence is the specific works and tasks of the youth of the whole province to effectively and comprehensively implement the contents and tasks of the campaign according to the plan set forth by the Provincial Youth Union.

In Kim Son district - where the provincial launching ceremony just took place, the spirit of the youth of the open land is clearly demonstrated by the projects contributing to the construction of advanced, exemplary new rural areas in localities, typically the model "Worth living village" in hamlet 11, Kim Dinh commune. With socialized resources, the members and youth of Kim Dinh commune have transformed the empty land along the river into a place for entertainment and physical training for children and people; painted the old rusty surrounding walls into colorful murals, turning them into bright-green-clean-beautiful-civilized-safe roads. The project makes the countryside here become bright and modern like an urban neighborhood.

Ms. Pham Thi Yen, Hamlet 11, Kim Dinh Commune excitedly said: In nearly 70 years of living here, I have never seen my hometown so beautiful and spacious. Not only are there sports equipment, but there are also stone benches, trees, lighting and railings to ensure safety... Since the project was completed, every afternoon, many people in the hamlet come here to exercise and admire the murals; children have a safe place to play. The project brings practical value, helping to improve the spiritual life of people in the hamlet.

The Exam Support Program is one of the five main contents of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. This year, the Exam Support Program was launched right after the campaign launch ceremony, with activities to support candidates in the 10th grade entrance exam, school year 2024-2025.

Under the hot weather during the exam days, more than 900 volunteers from 33 youth volunteer teams of the Exam Support Team in the whole province were always full of energy, providing maximum support to candidates with many activities such as: supporting drinking water, free luggage care, supporting food and accommodation for candidates with especially difficult circumstances, coordinating with functional forces to ensure security and traffic safety at exam locations...

Pham Thi Thuy Tien (Ninh Hai Commune Youth Union) is one of 40 volunteers participating in the Exam Support Team of Hoa Lu District Youth Union, performing tasks at the exam site of Hoa Lu A High School. This year is the 7th year Thuy Tien has participated in the Exam Support Team, so all the work has been mastered. Tien shared: As a former student, I understand the feelings of candidates when entering important exams. Therefore, every year I always enthusiastically participate in the Exam Support Team deployed by the District Youth Union, in order to provide maximum support to the candidates. I hope that the presence of the green youth shirt with free bottles of mineral water and our encouragement will help the students to be calmer and more confident in completing the exam well. After the 10th grade entrance exam, I will continue to participate in the Exam Support Team in the upcoming high school graduation exam.

One of the "key" solutions that the Youth Union and Association at all levels focus on implementing to improve the quantity and quality of volunteer activities in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is the policy of "3 linkages" (connecting forces, connecting localities, connecting communities). Typical are the volunteer activities of the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc implemented in Yen Mo district.

Comrade Trieu Thi Thu, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc, said: Implementing the "3 linkages" policy, the Youth Union of the Bloc has coordinated with Yen Mo District Youth Union to conduct a field survey in the locality; at the same time, connecting and mobilizing resources from affiliated youth organizations and Hoa Lu University Youth Union to build youth works and projects in Khanh Duong and Khanh Thinh communes (Yen Mo district) by the end of May 2024. The total value of the benefits of the implemented works and projects is nearly 100 million VND. Implementing the "3 linkages" policy not only helps mobilize human resources and funds but also helps us choose the right subjects and locations that need support to implement volunteer works and projects; thereby bringing practical results to volunteer activities.

According to preliminary statistics of the Provincial Youth Union, after 1 week of launching the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the youth of the whole province have carried out more than 300 projects and tasks with a value of billions of VND. In addition to regular activities, Ninh Binh youth are also proactive and flexible in taking on sudden tasks, "new and difficult tasks". Among them is the "30-day peak emulation campaign, volunteering to participate in accelerating the progress and completing the 500kV line 3 project early" launched by the Central Youth Union. During the recent visit and inspection of volunteer support teams at the construction site of the 500kV line 3 project in Kim Son district, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy highly appreciated the methodical, synchronous, timely and effective implementation of the Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Union at all levels.

With the above results, it can be affirmed that the Youth Union, Association and youth organizations at all levels in the province have actively and effectively implemented the first stage of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. However, the campaign is still quite long with many important contents and tasks, including unexpected tasks that may arise. Therefore, the Youth Union, Association and youth organizations at all levels in the province continue to promote the spirit of vanguard, volunteerism, proactiveness and responsibility to effectively implement volunteer activities, thereby spreading good values to the community.
