On September 1, within the framework of the Krong Pak durian festival, at the workshop "Building and developing a sustainable durian ecosystem", the organizers auctioned 3 durians including: durian from an ancient tree over 100 years old, Ri6 durian and Dona durian to find the "queen" durian.
At the program, delegates were very excited about the auction of precious durian and were also given a gold-plated durian worth over 50 million VND/fruit as a souvenir.
The money from the durian auction will be used for social security purposes for the poor in Krong Pak district.

Finally, the Ri6 durian was won by Ms. Ngo Tuong Vi, Chairman of Chanh Thu Group, at the auction price of 500 million VND. In addition, this businesswoman also called on some auction participants to contribute an additional 900 million VND to support the social security work of Krong Pak district. The total auction price of the Ri6 durian was over 1.4 billion VND.
Ms. Vi shared that because the purpose is to help the poor, the successful auction is even more meaningful. Regarding the "durian queen" Ri6, Ms. Vi said she will bring it back to her hometown Ben Tre to give to Mr. Sau Ri - the person known as the father of this durian variety.
