According to statistics from the provincial Center for Disease Control, from the beginning of the year to August 13, the whole province recorded 1,625 cases of dengue fever and 2 deaths.
Of the 1,625 cases of dengue fever mentioned above, there were 1,601 cases of dengue fever and dengue fever with warning signs, and 24 cases of severe dengue fever. Notably, the number of cases has increased rapidly since the beginning of July to date with more than 1,200 cases, nearly 3 times the number of cases in the first 6 months of the year.

According to Dr. Le Phuc, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, in the face of the complicated developments of the dengue fever epidemic, the Provincial Center for Disease Control has requested the Medical Centers of districts, towns and cities to continue implementing dengue fever prevention and control activities, promptly providing dengue fever prevention and control chemicals and spraying machines to ensure readiness for epidemic prevention and control. Monitor and handle cases and outbreaks in accordance with regulations, promptly, minimizing the spread of outbreaks and prolonged developments. At the same time, proactive dengue fever prevention and control activities will be deployed in August and September 2023, including implementing environmental sanitation campaigns, killing mosquito larvae at the commune, ward, town and high-risk areas; actively spraying mosquito-killing chemicals in high-risk areas, spraying widely in communes, wards and towns with complicated outbreaks.
Currently, the Provincial Center for Disease Control is coordinating with 7 localities including Buon Ma Thuot City, Buon Don District, Ea Kar, Ea Sup, Krong Pac, Krong Ana, Krong Nang, Buon Ho Town to actively spray chemicals to prevent dengue fever. At the same time, the units also strengthen communication activities to prevent and control the epidemic in many different forms such as: direct propaganda, mobile communication, zalo groups in villages, hamlets, residential groups... The content of the propaganda is specific, clear, focusing on the characteristics of the epidemic situation in the locality, the danger of the disease and disease prevention measures so that people can grasp and proactively prevent it.
