On the afternoon of July 10, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation (NDT) chaired the conference to review the first 6 months of 2024 on national DT and Project 06 of the Government. The conference was connected online to the bridge points of ministries, branches, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Government and the Prime Minister continued to resolutely direct and synchronously deploy solutions to increasingly effectively and practically implement the national digital transformation; promote digital transformation in most areas; focus on building and perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies to promote the development of digital government, digital economy, digital society and digital citizens.
At the same time, Project 06 was vigorously implemented from the central to grassroots levels, receiving consensus, support, and high appreciation from people and businesses.
Implementing Project 06, the whole country has completed 244/656 tasks according to the roadmap; regularly performed 122 tasks, and is deploying 38 tasks.
To date, the National Public Service Portal has provided more than 4,500 online public services; has 16.39 million accounts; 328 million synchronized records; 28.8 million online payment transactions with an amount of VND 14,528 billion; 63/63 localities (an increase of 14 localities compared to the end of 2023) have issued policies to reduce, exempt, and charge fees for using online public services; 15/63 localities (an increase of 2 localities compared to the end of 2023) have issued policies to reduce time to encourage people to use online public services.
The digital economy in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to grow by 22.4% and the proportion of the digital economy in GDP is estimated at 18.3%. Revenue from the information technology sector (digital economy ICT) is estimated at 1.9 million billion VND, up 26% over the same period in 2023. The proportion of adults with payment accounts reached 87.08% (up 9.67% compared to the end of 2023), exceeding the target set for 2025.
Regarding digital infrastructure, the whole country will have about 687,000 more households using broadband fiber optic Internet compared to the end of 2023, raising the rate of households using broadband fiber optic Internet to 82.2% (up 2.6% compared to the end of 2023 at 79.6%); more than 3.8 million more mobile phone subscribers using smartphones, raising the rate of mobile phone subscribers using smartphones to 84% (up 3.2% compared to the end of 2023 at 80.8%)...
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, endeavors and achievements of ministries, branches, localities and relevant entities; the drastic direction of members of the National Digital Transformation Committee; and the consensus, support and active participation of people and businesses.
He requested that ministries, branches and localities continue to do a good job of disseminating, disseminating and raising awareness about digital transformation; focus on building databases for their ministries, branches and localities and promote data sharing; the process of implementing digital transformation tasks needs to take people and businesses as the center and subject, requiring high determination, great efforts, drastic actions, and words matching deeds.
In addition, he requested to promote digitalization to enrich data of ministries, branches and localities; build a shared database on e-commerce; and promote the development of electronic payment infrastructure.
The Ministry of Information and Communications will soon complete and submit to the Prime Minister for promulgation the Strategy for Development of Vietnam's Semiconductor Industry to 2030.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment has submitted for promulgation the Project on Human Resources Development for the Semiconductor Industry to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The Ministry of Health urgently submits the Project on Developing Digital Infrastructure and Applying Information Technology to Serve Healthcare Digital Transformation by 2030.
Ministries and branches urgently organize specialized meetings on digitizing sectors and fields under their management...
