Currently, after storm No. 3, the province is experiencing power outages. Therefore, people are rushing to buy gasoline to store to run generators with the fear of not having enough gasoline supply. However, this also poses many potential risks to fire safety.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the province currently has 4 main traders, 4 distributors, 197 petrol stations (145 on land, 52 at sea), of which 16/197 stations have temporarily stopped operating due to damage after the storm (8 on land, 8 at sea). The total reserve at 4 warehouses belonging to main traders and distributors in the province is currently 168,500m3 , enough to meet the needs of the people. Of which, B12 Petroleum Company is 60,000m3 (currently 2 ships are waiting for maritime procedures to dock); Cai Lan Petroleum Company is 6,000m3 ; Petro Binh Minh Company is 100,000m3 ), Cam Pha Trading and Service-Tourism Joint Stock Company is 2,500m3 . Along with that, gas stations in the province have also run generators to sell gasoline to people.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh, Store Manager of Petrolimex 125, Quang Ninh Petroleum Branch, B12 Petroleum Company: Currently, not only our store, but all B12 (Petrolimex) petroleum stores are supplied with enough petroleum in the tank; at the same time, we run generators and arrange human resources at points of sale to serve the people's petroleum needs. We only stop selling at certain times (12:00 - 13:00 noon and 23:00 - 1:00 am) to have time to maintain the generator. The selling price of gasoline is still sold according to the listed price of the Ministry of Finance, people can be completely assured of adequate supply of gasoline for production, business and daily life activities. Currently, we also limit selling too much gasoline to people, in case of buying a lot for production, we must have documents from our company to sell to ensure safety and prevent speculation and hoarding.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, currently, the amount of fuel stored in warehouses in the province is still very large, enough to provide regularly and continuously for production and business activities and people's lives in the area. There is no such thing as retail gasoline stores closing during the time of overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, people should not rush to buy gasoline to stockpile. Gasoline sales points in the province need to pay attention to selling gasoline to people, not selling too much gasoline to people to stockpile and must comply with State regulations on fire prevention and fighting. Authorities should strengthen inspection, control, detection and strict handling of acts of speculation, hoarding, unreasonable price increases, stores not selling goods without a valid reason, etc.
The Department of Industry and Trade also recommends that, to ensure safety in fire and explosion prevention and control, avoid damage caused by fire and explosion, as well as ensure the health of everyone and every household, people should not buy gasoline to store and only buy gasoline to serve daily consumption needs.
