The program "New Generation Students" is organized by VTV in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association to open a playground for students to demonstrate their talents and creative thinking through community-oriented projects.

On August 18, 2023, VTV held a press conference to introduce the program "New Generation Students" which will be released to the audience at 8:30 p.m. every Thursday on VTV3 channel.

The program is organized by Vietnam Television in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association to open a playground for students to demonstrate their talents and creative thinking through community-oriented projects.

The “New Generation Students” program is inspired by Gen Z youth, a group that is very different from previous generations. Coming to this playground are young people who not only have ambitions and dreams but also use the knowledge and professional skills learned from their school to carry out projects for the community.

The Entertainment Program Production Board - VTV3 has built a completely new format, including 5 rounds designed based on the elements of the project formation and development cycle, including: Preliminary round (search and selection), Eligibility round, Reality round, Spreading round and Final.

The show combines two genres: a show - where teams showcase their talents to showcase the meaning of their projects, and reality TV - where teams embark on implementing their projects.

After the preliminary round, with more than 200 applications from nearly 40 universities nationwide registering to participate, the organizing committee selected 12 excellent schools nationwide to enter the enthusiastic competition round of "New Generation Students".

Ideas can come from any field: science and technology, education, health, agriculture, volunteering, etc.; and must be related to the students’ field of study and community-oriented.

The organizers have made a trip to 12 selected schools. Here, a jury consisting of 1 regular judge, 1 professional representative of the school and 1 famous alumni of the school will determine the strongest team of 6 members representing the school to participate in the "New Generation Students" competition.

The criteria for selecting players is to be members of the project implementation, so in addition to enthusiasm and dedication to the community, each person is also a piece of the puzzle that converges individual abilities to become a complete team, together implementing the project in the best way.

At the press conference about this event, journalist Ta Bich Loan said that students should prepare for the future, the new generation of students, the GenZ generation according to the spirit of the book that Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung gave her called "Dare to fail".

Continuing to share about this issue, Professor Le Anh Vinh, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, emphasized that students have the right to make mistakes, so they should dare to think, dare to do, and be creative to spread their projects and make many contributions to society.

The Organizing Committee believes that for the young people participating in the program, those who dare to do - dare to make mistakes - dare to do again, "New Generation Students" is a playground for them to express their energy, love for the profession, enthusiasm and confidence of youth, an opportunity for them to mark their personal identity, their school's identity as well as the mark of today's student generation.

Projects, whether selected for the next round or stopped, will certainly continue to be implemented in reality, because they are made from the dreams of today's young generation...

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Ba Cat, Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association, said that he is currently managing 1.4 million Vietnamese students. GenZ students love to explore new things, confidently express their opinions, and quickly master science and technology in the digital transformation period. Students have exploited Chat GPT very effectively in their work and have unlimited creativity.

The Organizing Committee said that many students have applied technology to their projects, even applying new technology such as artificial intelligence (AI).

Mr. Nguyen Ba Cat, Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association, said that GenZ students love to explore new things, confidently express their opinions, and quickly master science and technology in the digital transformation period.

In the “New Generation Students” program, the people who accompany and support the students are all outstanding faces. The coaches (mentors) of the competition team are former students, people in the same field who have achieved many outstanding successes.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai, coach of Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy, is a young Vietnamese doctor who received the Ho Chi Minh Award; Miss Ngoc Diem, coach of Foreign Trade University, Campus II, is currently the President of JCI Vietnam... They are not only the leaders of the competition teams but also the ones who inspire the students in the team as well as the school.

The two young and dynamic hosts of “New Generation Students” are Quang Bao and Khanh Vy. They are excellent alumni in their fields of study and have a positive influence on the youth community.

Commenting on the Northern qualifying rounds, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Xuan Bach said: “There were many surprises in the students’ performances. Not only me, but the other judges also shared many emotions. You are not only limited to your professional field but also know how to use many other fields to solve practical problems.

These seemingly dry and macro issues, through the lens of students, become feasible and are a source of inspiration for us: we must act."

Meritorious Artist Tran Ly Ly also highly appreciated the teams' performance: "This is a group that dares to think differently within its scope."
