First student receives 1 billion in cash from 'Universe of Money'

Surpassing more than 25,000 contestants, a student received a cash prize worth 1 billion VND from a reality show on personal financial management.

The final round of the reality show 'Universe of Money' was held on the evening of January 11 (broadcast at noon on January 12 on VTV) and found the winning student of the first season with 'huge' prizes.

This is a program organized by VTV with the support of the State Bank, State Securities Commission, General Department of Taxation... with the main purpose of disseminating personal finance knowledge and investment skills to students.

Surpassing more than 25,000 students from 27 universities nationwide, the top 6 students participating in the final round include: Huynh Thi Quynh Nga (Vietnam Aviation Academy), Le Van Minh (FPT University Da Nang), Doan Quoc Duy (VinUni University), Dinh Tuan Duong (Academy of Finance), Truong Xuan Loc (School of Economics, Vinh University) and Chan Yee Lun (Eastern International University).

The final round recorded an exciting and attractive competition from the contestants. 6 students passed 3 rounds of "Departure", "Exploring 4 Planets" and "Conquering Black Hole" with many activities of decoding, answering questions to find clues, auctions, overcoming obstacles combined with VR technology, negotiation, debate...

As a result, the first champion of "Universe of Money" was Doan Quoc Duy (VinUni University) whose performance in the competitions convinced the panel of experts.

Winning the final match, Duy received a prize worth 1 billion VND in cash, awarded directly on stage, along with a scholarship of 150 million VND and many other valuable gifts.

According to the organizers, this is one of the programs with the largest prize value for students on VTV so far.

Duy said: "I believe I have had a memorable journey from this year's season. From the process of accessing knowledge, learning, and experiencing with other friends, the judges, and experts, all have left memorable moments."

Notably, at the final match, Mr. Phan Duc Tu - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV) - decided to invite all 6 students to become employees of this bank.

More financial management knowledge for students

In addition to the official competition rounds, the "Universe of Money" program also organizes many side events such as "Money Park" - an interactive experience space for students at universities.

Here, students can participate in technology games revolving around financial and investment skills.

In addition, the program also introduces "MoneyTheater", a series of talk shows and workshops gathering financial experts, providing close and practical knowledge about personal finance.
