Hospital 108 recalls milk from company involved in fake milk production line

On the afternoon of April 17, 108 Central Military Hospital (Hanoi) informed about the use of Hofumil Gold Plus milk product for patients at this hospital.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of the 108 Central Military Hospital said that immediately after the media reported that the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Department had dismantled a ring producing, trading, and consuming fake milk powder and warned that there were many products for patients, the hospital had checked the milk products for patients.

Accordingly, the hospital discovered that the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product supplied to the hospital was on the list of milk products produced by one of the companies that was discovered by authorities to be producing fake milk.

According to the hospital, although there is currently no information from the authorities on whether the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product is fake or not. However, to ensure the rights of patients, on April 12, the hospital's leaders directed professional units to stop advising on the use of the Hofumil Gold Plus milk product and recall this product to return it to the supplier.

"The hospital also contacted patients who had been advised to use Hofumil Gold Plus milk products to recommend stopping use and instruct them to return the products.

The hospital also commits to accompany patients to request the supplier to refund the amount of money spent on the product to protect the patient's rights," the hospital representative affirmed.

Accordingly, Hofumil Gold Plus milk products used in hospitals have gone through a public bidding process in accordance with the law.

108 Central Military Hospital said it has been looking for every solution to improve the quality of treatment, provide comprehensive care for patients and ensure the best interests of patients.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Security had dismantled a fake milk production and consumption ring with nearly 600 types of milk for sick people, pregnant women, diabetics and children. Among the discovered products was milk labeled as nutritional milk for sick people, diabetics and post-surgery patients.

Previously, the Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health also sent a document to provinces and cities to review products produced by 11 companies involved in the fake milk production chain under investigation to warn consumers.

Authorities are currently expanding their investigation and recommend that people absolutely do not use milk of unknown origin.
