On the morning of April 17, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a review of forest fire prevention and fighting work, implementation of the forestry development strategy in 2024 and deployment of tasks in 2025.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong chaired the conference.

Last year, the forest protection management work was closely coordinated by localities, forest rangers and forest owners, closely following reality, regularly updating and promptly handling fire outbreaks to protect forests in the area. Coordinated with propaganda agencies to conduct more than 1,000 campaigns on mass media, 84 visual mobile propaganda campaigns in localities with forests. Established 19 shock teams, 79 mass groups to protect forests in villages and residential areas along the forest and organized the signing of commitments with forest owners not to violate fire prevention and fighting. However, during the year, there were still 09 fire incidents that damaged more than 1,000 hectares of special-use forests. This year, according to weather forecasts, there is a possibility of widespread heat with a high risk of forest fires, so the city focuses on strengthening legaleducation on fire prevention and fighting and deforestation among the people. Invest in fire-fighting equipment and tools to handle fires as soon as they start, preventing them from spreading and causing widespread damage to forests. At the same time, strengthen forest patrols, especially in key areas, and strictly detect and handle violations of forestry laws./.
