Campaign “Million Steps of Kindness”: Strengthening health

“Million steps of kindness” is a running and walking campaign launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society on the web/mobile/app vRace platform. Participants can run and walk freely anywhere, at any time, just need to record the distance on mobile devices (smartphone, smartwatch).

This not only helps to improve one's health but also generates funds to support people in difficult circumstances. Each 1km will contribute 1,000 VND to the overall results of the campaign. This campaign has been responded to by the Provincial Red Cross Society (CTĐ) since November 2024 and has attracted thousands of participants.

Strengthen communication

Ms. Le Thi Quynh Trang - President of the Provincial Red Cross Association said: The campaign "Million steps of kindness" is organized to spread a positive lifestyle, at the same time create cohesion in the community, arouse love in each person. For Phu Tho province, right from receiving instructions from the Central Association, the Provincial Red Cross Association has made a plan, issued an official dispatch to direct and guide the grassroots Red Cross Associations to implement the campaign. The campaign aims to mobilize at least 1,000 people to participate in response to promote the spirit of health training, positive lifestyle, sharing, promote compassionate actions in the community; mobilize and attract organizations and individuals to respond, accompany, contribute, and sponsor humanitarian activities launched by the Red Cross Association...

Immediately after launching the campaign "Millions of steps of kindness - Continuing the golden history", 100% of districts, cities and towns organized strong communication about the campaign on social networks such as Zalo, Facebook... At the same time, they created videos and graphics to guide cadres, members, volunteers and people of all walks of life to install the application. Thereby, a large number of cadres and people of all walks of life learned about and participated in the campaign. Typically, the Central Ethnic University Preparatory School has nearly 1,000 members with over 25,000km; Hung Vuong University has nearly 100 participants with over 2,000km; Ha Hoa District Red Cross Society has 27 participants with over 3,200km; Phu Tho Town Red Cross Society and Doan Hung District Red Cross Society have both walked and jogged over 1,000km...

Leading the campaign in the province is the Central Ethnic University Preparatory School. Teacher Vuong Chau Duong - Physical Education Teacher, said: Up to now, nearly 1,000 members have registered to run and walk through the vRace application and have done over 25,000km. To achieve that result, in addition to widely promoting on media in the school, social networks, from students to staff and teachers in the whole school, instructing them to install the application and update the results of running and walking every day to promptly motivate, encourage and attract more members to join the campaign...

Attracting a large number of people

Communication work has been strongly and continuously deployed, attracting a large number of people to participate in health training and contribute part of their efforts to charity programs aimed at people in difficult circumstances. According to statistics of the Provincial Red Cross Association, up to now, the whole province has had nearly 1,600 participants with nearly 80,000km of walking and jogging routes completed, exceeding the assigned plan (ranked 14th nationwide).

Ha Hoa District Red Cross Association is also one of the grassroots units leading the campaign. Mr. Vu Cao Tri - Chairman of Ha Hoa District Red Cross Association said: Immediately after the campaign launch ceremony of the Provincial Red Cross Association, Ha Hoa District Red Cross Association widely disseminated the campaign to grassroots branches, mobilizing members to actively register to become members. Thereby, 27 members installed the application, participated in the campaign, maintained the intensity, running time and contributed over 3,200km of running distance to the campaign. Ms. Ho Thi Phuong Linh, a member of the Red Cross Society of Ha Hoa district, shared: After participating in the program of walking and jogging from 3km to 10km every day, I felt positive changes in my body, not only losing weight but also maintaining endurance, improving health, and better spirit after working hours. I myself have participated in jogging and walking over 700km...

The campaign “Million steps of kindness” was launched not only to contribute to building the habit of regular exercise and health training for people in the area but also to promote a positive lifestyle and community cohesion. Every step, every small action has a noble humanitarian meaning, bringing hope to the disadvantaged who need the sharing of the community.

The campaign "Millions of steps of kindness - Continuing the golden history" launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society from November 23, 2024 to April 28, 2025 aims to attract 200,000 people to walk and run connected to the online sports platform, conquering a distance of 5 million km. The campaign aims to mobilize resources equivalent to 5 billion VND to organize humanitarian assistance activities.
