Grade 9 students in Ho Chi Minh City have 8 days to register their wishes.

The Departmentof Education and Training (DoET) of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a time frame for organizing the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, from April 20 to April 25, secondary schools will disseminate regulations, instructions on how to register and advise on wishes for 9th grade students.

From 3:00 p.m. on May 2 to 5:00 p.m. on May 10, through the online system deployed by the Department of Education and Training, 9th grade students will register their wishes.

Grade 9 students start registering their wishes to enter grade 10 from May 2.

Students who graduated from secondary school in other provinces and wish to take the entrance exam to specialized high schools in the city will submit their applications directly from May 5 to May 9.

It is expected that by May 14, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the number of students registering their first choice at each school, creating a basis for parents and students to adjust their wishes if necessary.

The adjustment will be made from May 14 to May 19. However, candidates are only allowed to change their wishes, not add or remove their names from the registration list.

Registration form distribution will be completed before May 28.

It is expected that before June 5, the Department of Education and Training will announce the list of candidates eligible for direct admission to grade 10.

The official exam will be held on June 6 and 7, 2025. The marking will take place from June 8 to June 25.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City noted that information on exam results, admission scores and review schedule will be announced by the Department in a separate document, based on the progress of exam marking and actual data processing.

Candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take 3 exams, including: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to the first foreign language being studied at school). Candidates registering for specialized schools or integrated classes will take an additional exam in the corresponding specialized or integrated subject (150 minutes).

Depending on the actual number of applications and the needs of the schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will consider additional enrollment at high schools that are still lacking many quotas.
