That is one of the contents of the announcement of the conclusion of Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc at the meeting to listen to the Department of Education and Training report on the enrollment work at the beginning of the school year 2024 - 2025. The announcement was issued by the Office of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the afternoon of March 22.
According to the above announcement, the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and urgently coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs and related units to develop a project to reorganize Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted on the basis of separating Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted into Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia Middle and High School with separate legal status.
In particular, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted continues to organize and operate as a specialized school. The school's headquarters is located at Lot P2, 38.4ha resettlement area, An Khanh Ward, Thu Duc City.
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School is organized and operates according to the regulations of secondary schools, high schools and multi-level general schools. The school's headquarters is at 53 Nguyen Du, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
The City People's Committee also requested that the project specify a roadmap for school separation; resolve issues related to personnel, finance, and expertise to ensure that the two schools are qualified to operate effectively, maintain traditions and educational quality; stabilize the psychology of the school's staff, workers, students, and parents; and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
The project to separate Tran Dai Nghia Specialized School needs to be submitted to the City People's Committee in April 2024.
Tran Dai Nghia Specialized School is developing well, why separate?
Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted was established in 2000, training both junior high and high school levels. The school currently has more than 3,000 junior high and high school students.
This is a school that is considered to be improving and developing strongly. Not only making its mark at the secondary level, the high school level is also affirming its position when for two consecutive years (2023 and 2024), there were students who achieved valedictorian status in the national excellent student exam in English.
The strengths of Tran Dai Nghia High School are scientific research, foreign languages, nurturing excellent students and comprehensive educational activities to train soft skills for students.
However, to comply with the regulations of specialized high schools and the Law on Education, in the 2024-2025 school year, specialized high schools will no longer be allowed to enroll in grade 6.
