The Ministry of National Defense has issued a Decision approving the Project to organize a parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

The parade was held on the morning of May 7, 2024 after the National Celebration at Dien Bien Provincial Stadium, with the preparation of 5 forces: Artillery force; Air Force flying salute; parade force (including the Honor Guard, the parade force chaired by the Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, the parade force of the Masses, the parade force of the Arts); the background force on the field (including 27 blocks, of which 7 are armed forces, 20 are mass forces); the force forming shapes and letters.

The highlight was the participation of the ceremonial artillery force, including 18 105 mm guns (15 official guns, 3 reserve guns) and 12 helicopters (9 official, 2 reserve, 1 search and rescue) of the Air Force.

The parade program began with 21 rounds of artillery fire to the background of the National Anthem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This was followed by a performance by 9 helicopters carrying the Party and National flags flying over the Ceremony Platform.

Next is the parade, the marching force will perform solemn, powerful movements, in accordance with orders; at the same time, demonstrate uniformity, high discipline, with a joyful and excited spirit.

The opening is the parade of the Honor Guard (4 blocks); the parade of the Armed Forces with 24 blocks (Army, Militia and Self-Defense Force: 16 blocks; Police: 8 blocks) and the parade of the Masses (9 blocks, including veterans, youth volunteers, frontline workers, workers, farmers, intellectuals, youth, women, and the Northwest ethnic groups); finally, the performance of the Arts block.

In particular, the parade of the Army and Militia and Self-Defense Force had the participation of all forces: Female Military Band; Dien Bien soldier block; officer blocks: Army, Navy, Air Defense - Air Force, Border Guard, Coast Guard, female Military Medical officers; Cyber ​​​​Warfare force, Vietnam Peacekeeping force (female); soldier blocks: Army, Special Forces, Special Forces; female militia block of ethnic groups in the Northwest; female guerrillas of the South; Red Flag block.

The police forces participating in the parade include male officers: People's Security, People's Police, Mobile Police, Fire Prevention and Fighting Police; female officers of Traffic Police; female soldiers of Special Police; male soldiers of Special Police; Mobile Police Cavalry.

The parade is an important highlight at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) to contribute to affirming the significance, stature, and great historical value of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the continuous development and growth of the Vietnam People's Army, Militia and Self-Defense Force and People's Public Security over the past 70 years under the leadership of the Party; educating patriotism and revolutionary traditions; arousing pride and deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; continuing to strengthen absolute faith in the leadership of the Party.

This is also an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of the people's armed forces and the spirit of national solidarity; affirm the determination of the entire Party, people and army to successfully carry out the cause of building and firmly defending the Fatherland.

The parade was organized solemnly, dignifiedly, regularly, securely, safely and economically. The participating forces were lean, compact and modern, demonstrating the unity and regularity of the people's armed forces, the cultural identity and the nation's aspiration for peace.

The Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in the three years 2023-2025 directly directs the parade and march in the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

The Ministry of National Defense established a Parade and Marching Subcommittee headed by a Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
