The closing ceremony of the program “Thai Xoe Dance Performance – One Round of Muong Thanh” and the recognition of the record for the Thai Xoe Dance Performance at the most locations took place on May 7, in Hanoi.
This is an event in a series of activities of the campaign "Legend of Dien Bien Phu - Muong Thanh's Spirit" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and National Tourism Year - Dien Bien in 2024.
The Xoe dance circle originated from Dien Bien Phu then spread to all provinces and cities across the country, reaching Ly Son and Phu Quoc islands, through Laos and ending in the capital Hanoi.
After this performance, the Vietnam Record Organization officially set the record for "One round of Muong Thanh - Thai Xoe dance performance at the most locations."
This record has achieved many impressive criteria: the Thai Xoe dance was performed by more than 2,000 people, lasting from May 2-7, at 42 locations including hotels and member units across the country and Laos. Of which, there are 6 large clusters in the cities: Ha Long, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Vinh, Dien Bien Phu and Hanoi...
The Thai Xoe performance takes place in many public places, densely populated areas... so that the public can immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere with the Northwest sound; and better understand the "Thai Xoe Art" Heritage of Vietnam.
The organizers said that this record was inspired by the Dien Bien Phu Victory that resounded throughout the five continents. Dien Bien is also the land where the cultural quintessence of the Thai ethnic group in the Northwest converges, typically the Xoe art, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Through the large-scale Thai Xoe dance performance, the Organizing Committee wishes to contribute to widely promoting the unique cultural beauty of the Northwest mountainous region, Vietnam to customers, the public and international friends. Through that, the Organizing Committee sends a message about the mission of preserving and promoting the cultural and historical values of the nation to today's generations.
