On the evening of November 25, the leader of the People's Committee of Nam Dong district (Thua Thien - Hue province) said that heavy rain caused serious landslides on the slope of the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway through the district.
Specifically, the landslide occurred on the main route of the La Son - Tuy Loan highway at km29 and the landslide occurred at the highway exit at km13+250 (branch road 1) down to Khe Tre town (Nam Dong district).
At branch road 1, there was a landslide about 30m long and 10m high. At the scene, layers of concrete and rocks slid down the slope.

Nam Dong district leaders said that at branch road 1, the district People's Committee organized forces to block traffic to ensure safety.
Yesterday (November 24), at 7:45 p.m., due to heavy rain, the hill behind the house of Mr. Tran Van Khua (born in 1973, residing in Lien Hiep village, Lam Dot commune, A Luoi district, Thua Thien - Hue province) collapsed, burying part of the house.
At the time of the landslide, there were 8 people (family members) in Mr. Khua's house. Mr. Khua and his wife, Ms. A Ho, were injured and were taken to the 92nd National Defense Economic Group Medical Station for first aid by the unit and authorities. The remaining 6 family members were safe and were taken to the homes of relatives nearby.
Also related to landslides caused by floods, on the morning of November 25, the People's Committee of Phu Loc district (Thua Thien - Hue) directed the evacuation of 43 households in areas at risk of landslides, including 14 households in Phu Gia area (Loc Tien commune), 7 households in Trung Phuoc Tuong and Trung An villages (Loc Tri commune), 10 households along National Highway 49B (Loc Binh commune), and 12 households in Bach Thach village (Loc Dien commune).
According to the Hydrometeorological Station of Thua Thien - Hue province, from the morning of November 18 to 3:00 p.m. on November 25, this locality had heavy rain, very heavy rain, and some places had especially heavy rain. The total rainfall for the whole period was generally 200-500mm, especially in the mountainous areas of A Luoi, Nam Dong Phong Dien, Phu Loc districts and Huong Tra town, 500-900mm, some places were higher such as Huong Phu (Nam Dong) 1,139mm, Bach Ma 2,765mm, Bach Ma peak over 3,108mm.
Due to the influence of a cold air mass of medium to strong intensity combined with strong high-altitude easterly wind disturbances, Thua Thien - Hue is forecasted to continue to have heavy rain, very heavy rain. The total rainfall for the period from the afternoon of November 25 to the end of November 28 is generally 150-350mm, in some places over 500mm; in mountainous areas of A Luoi, Nam Dong, Phu Loc, Phong Dien districts and Huong Tra town 200-450mm, in some places over 600mm; in Bach Ma mountain area and Bach Ma peak (Phu Loc) 500-1000mm, in some places over 1,000mm.
At 3:00 p.m. on November 25, the water level of the Huong River at Kim Long station was at 2.93m, 0.57m below alert level 3; the Bo River at Phu Oc was at 3.83m, 0.83m above alert level 2.
