About to take your dog on his first travel flight

Bark, a company that specializes in providing all services for pet dogs in the US, launched "Bark Air" - an airline service just for pets and announced that passengers can book flights to travel with their pets starting April 11. This air travel service just for dogs prioritizes the comfort and satisfaction of pet dogs throughout the flight and their owners.

Bark's ambitious project marks the beginning of a luxury air service, designed exclusively for man's best friend.

The airline's available routes include New York to Los Angeles and London, and flights from Westchester County Airport to Van Nuys and Stansted airports.

By partnering with an airline that is platinum-rated by Argus, the safety rating agency, Bark is able to ensure top-notch safety and comfort for both dogs and their owners. The airline announced that it will be flying on a Gulfstream 550. The booking system is billed as seamless and customer-friendly. A concierge will proactively contact travelers after booking to personalize the itinerary for each dog and owner. This individualized approach caters to every need and preference, creating a tailored, comfortable travel experience for passengers and their pets.

“We offer a ‘to and from the airport’ transportation service,” says Dave Stangle, Bark’s vice president of brand marketing. Passengers are taken to a separate terminal that is set up like a pick-up location, where they can grab a bite to eat and a drink. Once on board, the dogs enjoy the best care, with luxurious amenities to ease their stress and anxiety.

A traveler who booked the first flight revealed that the ticket price for a passenger and an accompanying owner was $6,000 (over 150 million VND) one way from New York to Los Angeles, and $8,000 (200 million VND) one way from New York to London. Many people considered this a "rich person's price".

Even Dave Stangle admits this. “The price point is not accessible to everyone,” he says. However, the airline doesn’t see price as the primary goal if it wants to continually innovate and grow dog travel.

According to Bark Air regulations, passengers must be 18 years or older to fly. Although the airline's planes are designed to accommodate 15 dogs and their owners, Bark Air says it will not sell more than 10 tickets to ensure passengers and their dogs have more space to move around comfortably on the flight.
